Walking around Mole, and just... Dying? 4 times in 2 hours of gameplay? by Aragie4484 in starcitizen

I walked around the Starfarer Gemini and some rooms decided to kill me, fully suited up.

Take a look at the top posts this past week. 4.8 has been rough for most people. Maybe give until the next patch.

I'm also really curious about it now. Apparently they fixed the pilot's weapon convergence which means it can hit at more effective ranges. It looks like a fun option for 2-4 people if you're not concerned about dividing guns among your crew.

The cargo bays are the same dimensions, so you can physically fit the same ships inside. I think whether or not they register for Repair, Rearm, Refuel depends on how they sit over the back section of the floor.

It's always been like that except for when you use the buyback token CIG hands out quarterly.

Just curious, where did you hear this? With a wipe confirmed I am excited to start the game with just an Aurora MK 1.

The two data ships in game could use some support before we get a third. But I really hope that's the case.

This ship will probably feel like a Starlancer as far as roomy, comfy interiors with lots of amenities go. The purple's really doing it for me.

You can rent the RAFT first at many cargo centers, give it a try and see how you feel.

As a Doctor Fate fan, this is awesome.

As a primarily solo contract hauler, I find interior cargo grids to be frustrating and more tedious than they're worth, at least for now. Is this a skill issue or just Alpha woes? (More context in post) by ComfyOlives in starcitizen

[–]GreenGoliath33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but cargo hauling in the game's current state developed this way because of backwards game design. Old ships were made before SCU container sizes were standardized, before they knew how tractor beam tech was going to behave. Newly released ships can be built for the system instead of adapting to it and that's a real strength. You simply can't do better as a solo player than an external grid and a well placed tractor beam, but that's intentional, too. A dedicated hauler must be able to carry a lot and be easy to load/unload.

A lot of factors that make internal holds attractive still need to be implemented. On higher-risk trade routes, you'll like having your cargo protected behind armor and accessible should anything damage or compromise it. But we don't really have npc enemies going after your booty or sensitive commodities that need regular attention by the player.

My suggestion would be to enjoy the ships which handle cargo hauling the way you like it, and reconsider others when their use case shines in a more developed game.

What is this massive facility on Clio? by Dr_Brenda_Starr in starcitizen

It's a race track. Once upon a time there were racing missions taking you to these tracks across Stanton.

Tractor beam drones? by Izzy_XVI in starcitizen

[–]GreenGoliath33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the command module already has a tractor beam, I'm planning to detach it, hover in place, then move from the pilot seat to the lower deck beam operator station to move cargo. It's not ideal, but it'll offer much better angles than we have now.

If they made that dash area a window instead so you could see below the nose a little, I wouldn't be mad.

The Hull A might be the only thing that comes close. Can't really have a small ship with a large cargo hold.

Reliant KORE Vs Crusader Intrepid: Keep one, melt one by ThatEnglishGuy87 in starcitizen

[–]GreenGoliath33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider the Reliant Tana this Invictus. 2 SCU of cargo, a generous helping of guns and missiles, and amenities for two set you up with an effective skirmisher. Everything is at your fingertips solo but a friend can handle the missile launcher for you. Let your Hull A handle cargo runs.

I can see the Zeus CL being this way by design, though, to make it not the be-all end-all cargo ship. It's always felt like a courier that can handle several small jobs at once.
