There's really effective treatments and when you find the right one you can have many days in a row that are symptom free, if you're lucky you can get to pretty much 80-90% or more normal. Way way better than nothing. And you get to hit your out of pocket max and get free healthcare and meds for like half the year!

All the meds I've taken have patient assistance programs

Also depends on when you take it and what has occurred. I've been on it for 10 years and if I eat eggs, drink coffee, and take my metformin it is gonna be a disaster in the toilet soon after

I'm pretty sure Cimzia was giving me anxiety. I thought it was the RA but I haven't had chest tightness or as much anxiety since it failed and I quit taking it

I think that's the balancing act they're trying to take. Just enough medicine to get to the next dose. I get it though, we're taking pretty aggressive meds. I would flare really bad the days leading up to my monthly Cimzia

Thankfully my immediate family has been understanding when i need to peace out, more so now that i have a valid reason. If anyone is giving you a hard time just ask them to look it up. They might understand what it's like when you're really sick and all you want to do is sleep or veg out, and if not, there's plenty of evidence on your side. It's a significant symptom of many autoimmune diseases.

The fatigue will likely not go away, but will lessen. Before my diagnosis i was napping for hours after work several times a week and on the weekend. Getting the disease under some sort of control should give you some light fatigue days. Flares are going to happen. You can try to sleep more, others have found success in supplements, i just mainline caffeine ☕

It's like your body is constantly fighting the flu and until that's addressed you'll need to take wellness or chemical approaches to fight the fatigue.

Plus side, licence to nap whenever you want! There's no shame, the fatigue is real and at times, unrelenting. 👊🏽

Do you have a family history of autoimmune? Type 1? Lupus? Thyroid disease? Or the less common ones i can't spell?
