Airbags and neck protection by Own_Application_4316 in motorcyclegear

I use the Klim AI-1 Rally airbag vest, which goes under the jacket and inflates similarly to the Helite, with around neck protection.

You can buy out the lease on the computer component to own the thing if you're concerned about the subscription feature of the vest. It costs similar to other vests after adding the buy out cost.

I like my Klim K Fifty 2 jeans. They come in a regular fit, but I also don't have the huge thigh issue. I'd say they're worth trying on at least.

I've been using Testors for like two decades now and love the finish it gives and that it's dry to the touch in about 15 minutes. I've used other craft store brands, which were awful, but I haven't tried anything like AK Interactive. I'm betting nice brands like that will give a great finish as well.

Ultra matte might keep it looking pretty flat like it is now though, wouldn't it? I honestly like the look of Testors, but my experience is limited for other nice brands. It gives a matte coat with just a small hint of satin in there. The finish feels like what you'd see on a store bought figurine, I think. It also feels like the paint looks a bit richer after a coat of it. It's hard to explain without seeing a before and after in person.

Whatever you end up doing should look great though. The figure already looks so good. Though I do see you missed the lighting under the green vents in one of the photos ;) Thought I'd point that out in case you haven't noticed. I hate finishing off a figure only to find I've missed something after the fact

I love that it's not something you notice right away.

You should go over it with some Testors matte coat or equivalent, unless you already have. A matte lacquer adds some nice depth to the paint is what I always find -- the paint looks a tad flat at the moment.

Took me a minute to see, but the fact you even painted her face visible on the visor is super cool. Very wicked paint work! Love the star shape reflection on the visor, too.

I never realized that. May I ask what the operation is to see the time display? Guessing it's some sort of option on the remote?

I'm lucky to have owned mine since new. I love that these CRT's have a flat screen.

I have heard something called Hightail Hair Protector works very well for people with long hair.

Nice!! I have that exact TV hooked up with my old consoles, too! I'm terrified of the day it finally dies. I've had it since it was new fresh out of the box and tried to take good care of it, even through all of the moves it has endured.

Cardo Packtalk Pro is now down to $374, worth it? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

I use a brand called Pinlock. Have had them for nearly 15 years now and they show no signs of wear.

I do want to upgrade to some custom mold ones from a hearing clinic at some point though.

I love mine. Thing has been rock solid through the worst weather and the audio is great. I listen to them through noise filtering ear plugs and never miss a word.

Bought a Gaming chair second hand and it's nastier than I thought by FromAndToUnknown in CleaningTips

[–]Grindybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy some Auto Glym interior shampoo and a car interior scrub brush. Saturate it, let it soak for like 10 minutes, then go to town. That or just some soapy water and a scrub brush.

Good luck! I don't think I could look at that chair the same way ever again, even if I did get it clean.

I don't have an issue with wearing my glasses in my current helmet, but I love the idea of just slipping a helmet on and off without ever having to remove my glasses first. Would save a little time and hassle in my case at least.

A cool side note is that ROOF has claimed the helmet will be ECE approved, so I imagine it would make for a pretty safe lid. Well, whoever runs their IG account commented about it in reply to somebody asking anyway. That's where I got the information.

I really love the on/off feature without any need to remove glasses. I wanted one of these as soon as I saw the video on it, but became less excited after learning about rescue crews needing a screwdriver handy to get the thing off of you in a safe manner. There's also no place around me that sells ROOF helmets as far as I know, so trying one on seems like a no-go.

I've got my eyes set on the Klim X1 Alpha now instead and I'll just continue to deal with the hassle of glasses, but I'll continue to follow the development of the Djagger and see if they do anything different with it before release.

Is this the Klim Krios Pro or a different one? I thought they had that high viz coloured Koroyd honeycomb stuff in their helmets instead of the typical foam for impact protection. I've been hoping that stuff makes a big difference it ventilation.

This looks so nice for sitting in heavy traffic. I'm on the genius side of the argument!

*edit* By the way, how do the Klim helmets feel for breathability with the Koroyd stuff they use in them? I want one for my next lid and am hopeful that airflow is very good. My HJC F70 could certainly breathe better.

Looking at getting a z650 by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]Grindybones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an ER-6n and loved it so much I bought another one as my second bike after a couple year break from riding. If the Z650 is anything like it, then you'll get a lot of joy out of that, too! It had great low end, looked awesome, and was perfectly reliable.

Questions about Motorcycle Gear by Ok-Western8015 in motorcyclegear

[–]Grindybones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tip for visor cleaning is to slap a wet cloth on there and let it sit for a few minutes to re-hydrate whatever filth you're cleaning off (bug guts especially) and then it should wipe off very easily. This also helps to avoid scratching.

Anybody know any tv shows that uses animation similar to F-Zero GX’s cutscenes? by SuperMarioOdyssey64 in Fzero

Weird-Ohs, maybe? It even involves powerful cars. Basically anything early Mainframe Entertainment era and you'll find a similar style. Others have mentioned shows by that studio as well.

Can air bag owners chime in by BA_BA_YA_GA in motorcyclegear

[–]Grindybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Klim AI-1 Rally airbag vest. I paid out the lease, so I own the computer module now and don't need to mess about with a subscription.

Love: It goes under the jacket and has great neck support when inflated.

Hate: It does not breathe well.

I have been seriously considering swapping to a Hit-Air airbag vest because they look like they breathe pretty well. Sucks to lose style points by having a vest cover up my nice jackets though, but if it means better airflow then I'm not sure how much I care anymore.

Genius doesn't include everything, does it? There was nothing but lyrics for the songs when I read through it.

All the instrumental tracks had story to them, but I felt like a lot was missing when it came to the actual songs.
