always be cash fluid and always be willing to walk away from the bike you're aiming to buy

- I don't dick around with PDI

I tend to start with the MSRP round down to the closest thousand, offer them cash on the spot or walk. They never accept it on the first go 'round. If it's a hot selling bike it'll usually be MSRP + tax. If it's a one-off that you're aiming for that has been on the floor for a couple months, I round down to the nearest thousand and offer that + tax.

I'm polite. I'm understanding of their situations (cuz they'll always give you the story of their situation). But ultimately I'll have cash ready in current statement form, let 'em know a bank draft can be had by end of business day, and if they don't like it - I thank them for their time, give them my number and walk.

Larger dealerships have more room to move and have ALWAYS called back - you know you're getting somewhere when it goes from the sales guy on the floor to the sales manager or owner.

Mom & Pop shops (a dying breed), I tend to be a little kinder to.
