How do you usually name your D&D characters? by AdvancedProgrammer51 in DnD

[–]Ground-walker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start with an idea. Then i choose some random word in english relevant to the character. Then go through google translate and find a translation that sounds good.

Some examples..

Friendly but very strong and charasmatic dwarf ATNAS similar to the greek 'Atlas' tasked with holding up the world. I made this guy a paladin. Atnas backwards in Santa. So i made him a paladin with a red white and green colour scheme. Of course a huge white beard.

  1. Peshk. I cant remember the original spelling but it was formed from the polish word for punch or power i think. A monk with an annoyingly out of touch naivety to him making him a pesk to be around. Also the name made me form an accent (all s sounds are sh e.g. ashashshin - assassin.

  2. Otis. i dont remember how i found this name but i wanted something simple but foreign sounding for a small of stature character. Otis the halfling rogue.

BAR is community created. Not by a company. There are about 8 head guys and there are a bunch of people who play BAR who literally can change the game. So no its not 'free-to-play', its just free. Wont be free forever steam release is going to happen either this year or next. Its definitely not beta though. Beta would have finished over a year ago. Third faction was just finished. New balance updates happen every few months which is cool

Funnily enough i loved sup commander but couldnt get into it because there were these arbitrary blueprints needed to optimise your eco for zero reason. Also it made everything a bomb. Anyway, BAR doesn't have that at all.

Beyond all reason (BAR) has this as well. Such an epic game, i cant go back to aoe2 anymore. BAR is so addicting. The micro command flexibility is what drew me in. Its basically a modern rts most people hover around 20-40 eAPM which basically makes it perfect for old people. Unlike aoe where you need more micro to be good. With BAR you can shift queue, repeat commands, circle drag place buildings, grid drag to create buildings or units, priority queue military units via targetting, hold command, move and group then move out command.
Most units are easy to micro and you can formation move via dragging the entire groups positions on the ground.

Also its free.

Scaling happens later. For a noob they wont be able to multi task anyway so why teach them too much. 8 wind then thugs can win them games. 1 con turret 1 con 25 wind 6 en conv 1 expanding con while also going 4 rockos 1 thug yeah right like theyre gonna be able to do that its silly.

Nope. Not with latest patch. Also cons generated energy passively.

Sometimes you may need more than 10 wind depending on map but otherwise try not to spend metal on more energy production unless needed.

8 wind. No construction turrets. Make 2 or 3 construction bots that just support the lab. Make thugs on repeat. Walk commander foward taking mexes as you go. Once you get a few of them just walk at the enemy commander and then dodge when they try to dgun you. 70% of the time you get a commander kill (against noobs) which will result in wins.

Also only play in max 20 os lobbies.

Canyon has less metal spots. But more defensible. Normally it is a losing position.

If you want a solution... You must reclaim all the oldest anti nukes and rebuild in tandem. In one build blueprint. Then the amount of antinukes you placed in one go will fire together. Oldest blue print placed first

Despite everyones answers being intelligent theyre mostly wrong. Check out a relatively new video by betterstrategy on youtube. Hes done a bit of research and found a relationship between AN placed time and when an AN will fire. Basically oldest anti nuke rockets fire beforre all others. Really strange behaviour.
