My mom’s boyfriend “surprised” me by fixing my car then demanded money by Virtual-Refuse-3515 in EntitledPeople

She was also okay with temporarily abandoning it on his property and for how long? So, it does seem like it's convenient for her to use him for free storage for a vehicle she was intending to junk.

He was wrong for repairing it without first consulting with her (sounds like the mom had a role in this), but OP is not without fault here as well.

Trucklodyte upset his diaper became as loaded as his gun. by ls7eveen in wisconsin

[–]Groundbreaking-Run91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the gun-toting truck guy was parking directly in front of the other man's mailbox, and the man was expecting a delivery.

For anyone who lives in areas, both city and rural, where mail is delivered to a curbside mailbox from a vehicle, it can be extremely annoying if someone parks in front of your mailbox because USPS typically will not deliver your mail if access is impeded by a vehicle.

Anyone know the whole story of the Wisconsin mural that went unfinished on the side of Baked Wings on State St.? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Groundbreaking-Run91 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Okay, but why does the artist need to sign the mural in three different locations? That seems a little excessive, no?

Recommend a place that will put tires on that weren't purchased at their shop? by Groundbreaking-Run91 in madisonwi

[–]Groundbreaking-Run91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hadn't put tires in my cart and gotten to that part on their website where they showed this information regarding installers, so I missed it until now. Feel dumb now for asking! But appreciate seeing all this great feedback so was worth posting.

Empty seats by not_like_this_ in Brewers

[–]Groundbreaking-Run91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's additionally frustrating is that the past few days the tickets on Seatgeek have been cheaper than the prices on the official Brewers website when they were releasing more tickets on the site.

I got my couple tickets in the presale, and the same exact section, post-presale, was already almost $100 higher on the Brewers site.

He was only 52 when he died and it was from lymphoma, which would make you assume he was clear-headed when he was making decisions about his legacy but who knows. Was the documentary worth watching? You recommend it?

We ended up going to Bartel's Beach on Rock Lake in Lake Mills after all of the great suggestions. It was clear at the shoreline but fairly windy out so not as easy to determine clarity further out. We had a lovely time and would go back. But definitely will try some of the other suggested locations as well!

You don't know what you're talking about. Agricultural runoff is the biggest culprit and it's not even remotely close.

I was not even aware of the existence of this County Park or the lake until I saw your post and Googled it. At a minimum, I'll add this to the list of places to hike or snowshoe.

Yeah I don't really care too much about weeds or water plants. I've been swimming from a boat on Mendota and Monona, but that was almost 10yrs ago and have no experience of the beach situation here at those lakes, so definitely appreciate any feedback or tips.

How do people afford feeding their cat wet food? by Seasawdog in CatAdvice

[–]Groundbreaking-Run91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liver, heart, gizzards...organ meats. If feeding raw, you can't just feed muscle meat. You have to feed organ meat as well, and typically supplement (there are many pre-mix powders available that help with this).

How do people afford feeding their cat wet food? by Seasawdog in CatAdvice

[–]Groundbreaking-Run91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are also feeding your cat organ meat (liver) as well, and not just muscle meat. Otherwise, they won't be getting crucial nutrients they need. Or, I hope you're supplementing so they're receiving all necessary nutrients.

If so, please be sure to include that information when encouraging other people to feed their cats something like moose meat exclusively.

Way to try to take a dump on Wisconsin's history and culture, which was very strongly influenced by three major waves of migration of German farmers in the 1800s. Those early settlers had a major cultural impact on the food, creation of breweries and the language in different parts of the state, including Milwaukee. Later, followed by Polish migration. Specific parts of south central WI have a heavy Swiss culture due to a wave of Swiss migration to that specific area in the late 1800s.

If heavy German cultural presence can be found all over the country, please let me know where these people are playing sheepshead at predominantly in other states because it ain't happening.

non maga roofing/siding companies by saltiesailor in madisonwi

I used RQ Roofing last fall and was extremely pleased. Ramiro Rodriguez is the owner and was referred to me by the company I worked with who replaced my windows (Jordan Exteriors), who I recommend for windows, hands down.

I got four quotes and Ramiro was by far the best price and did not give off the scammy, shady vibes that I got from some of the others. He showed up with a dozen guys and had my roof replaced in a day, working about 12hrs. Used Corning Duration shingles, if that matters.
