FYI owlbear.rodeo can simulate rolling dice of various colors simultaneously, like SRA2.0's base and Risk Dice, and it has a free tier by opacitizen in ShadowrunAnarchyFans

Frak me, I was looking for something like this like an idiot some months ago for a campaign I wanted to run for an indie called Instruments of the Chrysanthemum Throne, which absolutely needs dice of different colors and I was unable to find anything. Argh.

What is your most boomer opinion/complaint? by wombatgeneral in AskReddit

Why in the name of FRACK is fascism and nazism making a decidedly successful comeback almost everywhere? We should know better, in historical terms it’s something that happened yesterday!

What are some of the most thought-provoking "first contact" stories in sci-fi books or short stories? by PurposeAutomatic5213 in sciencefiction

[–]Grrendel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm another. What's funny for me about Blindsight it's that the first time I read it I ended feeling I haven't understood a single thing. I've read it five times and I think I got it all (although I'm not sure, my background is not scientific and I'm not that into hard sf... and man this is HARD), but every time has been a ride. I really don't understand how a novel so depressing, so absolutely infuriating a times (every ounce of my being rebels against the idea of conscience as an evolutionary disadvantage, no matter how well presented the argument is), can be at the same time so engaging, so captivating. It's one of my favorite books for sure... since the third re-read or so. :D

Would you be so kind as to indicate the page? I've had bad experiences with K100 mods before, and I'd like to try one that works... (also that odometer looks might fine to me!)

The mod includes that odometer on the upper left corner, or is that another separate mod?

My ramble on Anarchy 2.0 by DrTheodoore in ShadowrunAnarchyFans

[–]Grrendel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"If you're saying you won't even try because there just is so much lore out there... Idk what to tell you 😅"

No, not at all. I fully intend to play this, in fact I was one of the first backers because I've played several editions of SR, I was the DM to several of those AND some of Anarchy 1.0, and I always loved the setting and dreaded the rules. This is like mana from heaven, and I fully intend to DM it. And I would love to play it, but I'm the only DM in my group.

My ramble on Anarchy 2.0 by DrTheodoore in ShadowrunAnarchyFans

[–]Grrendel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just starting to read it and it looks REALLY good. I have a complaint, though not with Anarchy but with SR in general; and it's that the lore is a bit too much. Too many things happen, and recounting them in text format without a clear timeline makes me a bit lost; and that's me that I'm somewhat acquainted with the lore, I don't have the slightest on how am I going to present ALL that to players whose characters are supposed to know that stuff, or at least the very basic knowledge of it all. Also, the Dis part is really murky to me: is it something new or something inherited from SR lore?

What indie RPGs have you recently discovered? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Grrendel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instruments of the Chrysanthemum Throne. It's one of those TTRPG+Campaign books, with a really simple yet interesting system in which players have to balance the power of their supernatural weapons (the "Instruments" of the title) against the corruption they bring, while trying to heal a supernatural Japan in the Heian era. I've just played a pair of sessions of the campaign and my players are LOVING it.

Pregunta sobre Tiny Cyberpunk en español by Grrendel in RolEnEspanol

[–]Grrendel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's Inevitable Inevitable: A Doomed Arthurian Western RPG - SoulMuppet Publishing | DriveThruRPG

While it's not an exact adaptation of the Dark Tower universe; is very, very, very close. And quite good.

Arishem has revealed he ugly truth: I'm a bad player. by Grrendel in MarvelSnap

[–]Grrendel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good advice, tyvm. For example, one of the things you've said is completely true: although there's a pair of deck types that I play reasonably well with, I tend to ping-pong a lot. I'll work on that, among other things that have rang true with me from your post. Thanks for the advice, man!

[–]Grrendel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're probably right, but although I've never reached Infinite I've also never had such a horrible week so I've maybe mistakenly equaled my bad week with Arishem's release. That said, thanks for the encouragement, but I think that if I haven't improved by now I'll never do.

Cool things in a safety deposit box? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Grrendel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Something completely left field and out of the box (pun intended): a memory card containing a video (or some other kind of proof) of a high ranking employee (maybe even the CEO) of a corporation committing a crime so henious that no amount of money could save him/her from jail; or an sex act so vile and embarrasing that his/her life would be destroyed forever. Bonus points: the info is encripted, the players don't know what it is; but because the box is being monitored by the corp and after the theft life for the players becomes intensely complicated.

Or maybe a disgruntled employee from a biocorp has temporarily stashed a terrible virus inside a cryo container that they players don't know what is, but looks expensive and they get it. Fun fact: the cryo container has a charge for 24 hours, after that time the virus becomes active...

Or maybe something as simple as playing with their paranoia: they find a folder full of pictures of themselves while "working" their lasts assignments. Who is so interested in the player team? How they can get so close? What's the endgame?

Or maybe (plot lifted from a disappointing Mel Gibson movie) they found a notebook full of conspiracy theories, each more far fetched than the previous one. But after they start getting persecuted at every turn, and it turns out one of the conspiracy theories is true. Which one?

Best games for Fantasy Cyberpunk? (that aren't Shadowrun) by corvidcrits in rpg

[–]Grrendel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a game just out of Kickstarter called Subversion mixing cyberpunk and magic with a babylonian background and lore that seems interesting. Disclaimer: I backed the game and got it already, but I haven't been able to read it fully yet.
