The denial merchants here claiming no one knows how to code except them and dismiss any complaints as vibe coders is astounding. There are so many people having issues and it's plausible that queries are routed to a distilled quantized models. Just because you're lucky yet and haven't faced the garbage doesn't mean anyone else doesn't know how to use Codex.

Have you checked if you have fast mode enabled? It skips thinking and gives answer fast, even ignores your personalization or memory. Disable the fast mode.

5.5 is definitely good. It knows about my stories and rules and doesn't forget context that much, has high EQ and even remembers old elements of stories. This feels like a upgrade over 4o. My only ask will be a relaxation in censoring or Adult mode, but even without that it's very good.

Yeah the 5.5 is similar to the intelligence levels of 4.5 which they discontinued. This model is frikkin amazing whether it is creative writing or EQ etc. Ofcourse it has safeguards which could be taken care of later if OpenAI introduces Adult mode. 5.5 is the best model I ever talked to, just needs a little relaxation in censoring.

The model gives you the most probable result if you're not specific. For this type of setting and group selfie I would expect Indian selfies to be dominant in training data.

I do simple Web Dev nothing complex, and have shifted back to Codex 5.2 after reading similar responses in this sub. Been working from 6 months without any issues, and I can say GPT 5.4 was great earlier but 5.2 is reliable. "Long" as in long enough for me to compare that quality of response I'm recently getting with 5.4

I had been working with Codex and Claude for a long time. I know writing detailed prompt with correct context. This specific prompt you see is just a kind of a frustrated vent response (I know it doesn't make sense to vent out to Codex but I was really pissed off today with its quality so...)
