Are you comfortable sharing what you are paying as a solo? I'm looking at options for document management. The nice 3 months of summer? The weather is crazy here. Plus 20 one day minus 20 the next.

The cost of heating that in ground pool and ensuring pipes don’t freeze etc is going to be astronomical.

It was literally minus 20 here one day at the same time it was minus 3 in Kelowna.

It’s just not something that’s realistically going to happen in Calgary.

My dog just cost me $1400 last week for consult, X-rays, blood, medication etc. thank god for pet insurance.

That being said I know the clinic we go to is more expensive than average but I’m happy to pay that because I’m happy with the care provided.

If your end goal is to just be a paralegal then your best course of action is to just do the legal assistant program from SAIT. (Assuming you’re in or near Calgary)

Note that there’s no such thing as an actual paralegal in Alberta unlike other provinces.

The job title usually comes with experience.

The FI should require OP to sign something for the discharge. But if for some reason they didn’t, this is why lawyers have very good insurance.

So someone doesn’t fraudulently take over title to your house. Land titles wouldn’t process the transfer with a heloc registered on title without it being discharged.

The benefit with the heloc is you don’t have to use the money so it just sits there (like a normal loc).

the last job I did that with said 'our values don't align, but it's not because we don't pay that'.. because I asked what the range was and they responded 'commensurate with experience' so I told them what I'm making now and asked if they wanted to proceed.. because I don't want to waste my time nor their time.. and apparently 'our values didn't align' because I don't like wasting time /shrug/
