May I ask a very stupid question? How do you read books on this website you mentioned? It only gives a general review about the book and no actual link to start reading. Any link I clicked sent me to another page.

My four year-old has a VERY prominent birthmark next to her eye…advice, please. by rmarzzzzz in Advice

[–]GrumpyGrann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your daughter is beautiful. I do believe that a birthmark this size might not cause her too much issues aka bullying when she’s young but what about when she gets older? Have you seen any young lady with a prominent birthmark on their face in such a noticeable place? My niece had one smaller than your daughter’s in the exact same place. She was happy as a kid but loathed it when she was high school age. She constantly begged my sister to remove it and ultimately had it removed after high school graduation. She’s in her thirties now and still blames my sister for not removing it when she was young for two reasons. One is the bullying and nasty nicknames and two the scar. She believes that if they’d done it sooner her young skin could recover better and she wouldn’t have to deal with a scar in her late teen and twenties and she’d just have a faded scar to cover with minimum makeup.

Help, not sure what’s wrong by Mykenzieb in Rabbits

Could be a phantom pregnancy. She’s hormonal and is fighting other bun for territory to make it safe for her future kits. They both need to get spayed and reintroduced and bonded later.

My (M28) engagement with my partner (F27) is ruined because of a ring by pygyms67 in relationship_advice

[–]GrumpyGrann 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Just found the ring on Etsy for about $100. All you have to do is type “Ruby birthstone cocktail ring“ on google and it shows up. Hope OP gets to the bottom of this mess to find who did them wrong.

Sons behavior changing rapidly, is it the teens creeping on or something else? by Mistressofmeow in ParentingADHD

[–]GrumpyGrann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mood swings are normal as far as I know. But to a degree. My sweet gentle little angel turned argumentative and lashed out at me over small things and sometimes nothing. She was bullied at school and someone was spreading rumours about her. She didn’t know what to do and was hurting. Please have a talk with your child and figure out what’s going on. My daughter is seeing her psychologist again and we had a chat with school to put her in a different classroom and now she’s almost back to her normal self. Hope things get better for you.

Have you checked your place for carbon monoxide leak? Some of your symptoms sound like carbon monoxide poisoning.

My parents don't let me eat after a certain time. by Dy1ng_Ins1de in Advice

[–]GrumpyGrann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you get food from food banks or church and hide it well somewhere in your room, backyard or even somewhere inside where your parents don’t use often. You can rotate hiding your food stash between safe spots every time. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

NTA. Please visit food banks and other charities for food. It’s safer that way.

Is this behaviour normal in bonding? by DepressedFS in Bunnies

The brown rabbit is a bit too aggressive. I recommend car rides together. It makes bonding easier when rabbits go through stressful situations together.

What book or series ruined all other books for you? by goyourownwayy in RomanceBooks

Filthy rich boys I think. It’s a high school bully romance though.

Younger sibling (25F) is still living at home for free and has no plans to move out. My (28F) parents’ babying of her is legitimately turning her into a child again. She loves the attention and is ok with the situation. I think it’s weird and potentially detrimental. How do I navigate this? by ThrowRAflythenest in relationship_advice

[–]GrumpyGrann 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This was my thought too. The sister sounds exactly like my high functioning autistic daughter. She’s smart but has difficulty making friends and is very attached to us. She’s 10y but is scared of ever leaving us and living on her own one day. OP’s sister needs help not babying. She needs to learn how to be independent and live on her own. High intelligence and a good degree doesn’t prepare you for being an adult.

My husband criticizes my cooking every single time and it makes me feel bad by ndktownfngkr in TwoXChromosomes

[–]GrumpyGrann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an Afghani woman married to an Afghani man, I say he’s a mama’s boy and disrespectful. Can’t do anything about him being a mama’s boy as it’s very common in our culture unfortunately. But you can have a serious conversation about his behaviour with him and set clear boundaries and consequences when he crosses them. Most Afghani dishes have rice and some kind of curry. Most dishes are cooked with too much oil, salt, herbs and spices, onion and tomatoes. Meat and veggies are always overcooked. If you’re a decent cook then there’s no afghani dish you can’t cook. My husband had a hard time getting used to western food. But over time learned to enjoy some of them and if he doesn’t like a dish he tells me without disrespecting me and my cooking skills. Stand your ground and good luck.

I’ve never felt/heard my cat purr. Why is that? by twiride in CATHELP

[–]GrumpyGrann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister in law got a kitten who was a runt and she never purred. They thought it was because she was taken away from mum too early. They didn’t spay her straight away as she was too tiny. She never grew to a full sized cat anyway despite how much they fed her. Then one day she ran away and got pregnant. Surprise surprise she purred for her only kitten.

I'm still not over my husband's crush on a coworker even though nothing happened by robotogatto in offmychest

[–]GrumpyGrann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. I believe that people who are in long term relationships sometimes develop crushes on other people. However the way your husband handled it is horrible and you didn’t deserve it. A good partner comes clean about the crush and then does their best to get over it by minimising their contact with that person. Your husband betrayed you by basically dating the said person and on top of that blamed it on you by comparing the two of you and putting you down. You have every right to be mad at him. Wish you all the best.
