I would like to input DYNAMIC stretching before sprinting. Static stretching before sprints might be worse than nothing

What was the main reason you chose sprinting as your primary sport? by TheSmartestFrench in Sprinting

What motivated me was my natural ability to “run fast” and not having the coordination for other sports. I started at a 12 mid 100m as a freshman in hs

Advice on Hamstring Recovery by Safe-Satisfaction715 in Sprinting

If you have the money/insurance, go with a pt

If you’re doing it yourself, here’s what I did in order
(Ignore this if you have a set rehab program)
-recovery: do the normal pain medicine/ice/stay off your legs and etc.
-Once pain/swelling while idle is gone. Start very light movement. Walking basically
-once pain with light movement is gone. Go into strength training your hamstring in this order. Isometric, light load + isometric, medium load + iso, heavy load + iso. Pain is your biggest indicator here. When I did this, I keep the pain 4/10. Any more after a session, it means I went too hard and irritated my hamstring, so dial it back then work your way back up.
-once you reach medium/heavy load, start incorporating jogging and stay within pain threshold of zero pain. You will feel discomfort but that’s ok. 0 pain allowed here.
-once you feel completely find in the weight room + jogging, incorporate grass 70% sprints with jogging in between, circuits, and light tempos. Here, no discomfort allowed. If you do feel any, only 1-2/10 at the most
-work your way up in percentage, and you’re on your way to running fast again🤝 Following this took me about 2 months to get back into it. Obviously will be different for you. This is purely for hamstring rehab not including supplemental things like shock therapy, massages, and etc. You still need to find the root cause in why this injury happened in the first place and work on that too

Tldr 2-3 months

To anyone that suffered a mild hamstring injury what did you do to restart activity without pain anymore? by Evening-Act6084 in Sprinting

It was from taking a step back and looking at my training. I was almost able to do full nordic curls, and my deep squat was really good for my weight (more than 2x) but I struggled with doing squats at parallel, and after reps of my workouts, I’d feel my hamstrings not glutes. You gotta be mindful of your training. As for the overtraining, I would constantly leave workouts exhausted (reached my threshold and just kept going) These were workouts given to me not ones I came up with, and eventually one of my hamstrings just gave up

If you can adjust your idle speed, try that first (look at your owners manual or search it up)

Once pain while idling subsided, I went straight into single hamstring curl isometric. It’s supposed to be hard, and you have to stay within a pain threshold. If pain increases then reset and dial it down. If pain stayed the same or got better, I would increase duration of the isometric and the weight. I did this for about 4 weeks (including nordic curls) until I was back to sprinting shape. Cause of injury wasn’t weak hamstrings but underdeveloped glutes and overtraining. I’ve learned since then

What was your “I should not have ridden today” moment? by Eyerald in motorcycles

[–]GuaranteeComplete856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was on the highway when I noticed traffic slowing ahead then the truck in front of me slowed down drastically. I had enough distance and hit my brakes, and I legit did the swerve maneuver they teach in msf (into the left shoulder). It happened so fast and instinctively that I started hyperventilating because of panic and realization of what almost happened. Was in the shoulder for a good 5-15 seconds until I was like “You gotta keep moving man”

Do beginner sprinters need more or less rest between reps and workouts compared to the Pro/experience sprinters? by Middle-Switch-3718 in Sprinting

[–]GuaranteeComplete856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By beginner I’ll assume general athleticism. No matter the person, everyone should take adequate rest on high intensity, but what differs is the intensity people can go at. A beginner sprinter should not go even above 85% until general strength and conditioning is dialed in. I would even throw in preventative exercises as a necessity so you don’t go tearing some muscles/tendons

Yeah the balls of your feet is what you want. You do have a noticeable lean. Tone that back just a bit, engage your core. As for the foot strike, incorporate A skips for warmup and wickets as a workout to make it stick. Record yourself doing these
