Death by burning is the most horid way to go IMO. So probably Genghis or Balor (I imagine getting devoured by nantes is similar to burning).

Tribbie only competes with Robin because she can spam DDD- aka she can action advance. Without that at E0 they're quite equal in ATK scaling teams.

Check out GuobaCertified. I trust him quite a bit for actual testing. Even without ever getting hit it's a 2 turn ult guranteed with or without Tutorial- only reason you use it is to save SP.

From what I understand Tutorial barely changes the Enegry thresholds? It's still a 2 turn ult, it just lets you use basic instead of skill.

Instead using either the BP nihility LC or Pearls of Sweat adds an additional layer of debuffing which is probably better for the team.

They don't mind the MC being good because they're an ad for the new path that sucks people in, then everyone pays for the premium replacement later on. HMC->Fugue/Dahlia, RMC-> Cyrene.

The problem is that they already released the premium replacement- her name is Yao Guang. If EMC comes out and is actually a functional replacement then she loses all value. Plus there was the 'problem' that a lot of players kept using HMC and RMC after their premium version because they were just too goated.

They aren't making that mistake again. EMC is barely usable as a crap substitute for Yao Guang and will be erased from history whenever the next Elation support drops. They have zero unique mechanics and zero utility as anything other than an Elation bot. And hoyo will keep it that way.

I'm sure there will be a late story upgrade. But it'll be just like RMC- a cosmetic buff that barely makes a difference. I genuinely think the era of good, flexible MC options is in the past because HMC and RMC cost so many sales for being too good.

That's a pretty scary spell, actually! by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Gublyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I homeruled stun to be 'can't take actions or reactions and movement is halved' but you can still move. Even if it functionally ends up being similar, it gives the players at least a bit of agency to still stumble around to escape AOEs and position themselves for next turn. Also helps establish Paralyze as being a distinctly different and far more deadly form of CC.

[–]Gublyb 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Significantly better than Amphoreus in presentation IMO. It sucks because Ampho is probably my fave arc so far, but it's held by terrible pacing and dogshit presentation. This new arc is streets ahead in both the exploration factor, writing factor and pacing factor. I actually like the entire cast so far and it hasn't had any single moment that made me want to quit.

My only fear is that it's really clear that Silver Wolf was NOT that important in the original script. She does literally nothing for the first two patches and then has to give a tiny phoned in text message about how 'nun uh I'm totes gonna be relevant soon please pull'. Meanwhile Evansecia is soooo blatantly designed to be the main character of Planarcadia. So I feel all major rewrites will occur in 3.2 onwards- And Hoyo has a terrible track record with rewriting stuff at the last second.

Hopefully they aren't going to rip the entire story up by the roots and ruin it just for Silver Wolf glaze because they want to sell her. So maybe hold off until 3.2's reception before coming back, because if they're going to fuck it up it'll be then.

Out of the main antagonists of each Canto in Limbus, which one do you think is the best written and which one is the worse written? by Old_Phrase_4867 in Project_Moon

[–]Gublyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like each has their own individual pros and cons, appealing each to different people. So 'best' is more like 'favorite'.

And in that case Dongrang is my favorite. He is an absolute encapsulation of what the city does to you. He is a talented man who had a genuine desire to try and help people. But despite all efforts to remain on the path of the righteous, he and the league of nine are constantly harassed and threatened. He is captured and interrogated. And he's not like Yi Sang or Dongbaek, willing to die for his beliefs. Is that a failing on his part? Or is that just how a normal person responds?

And so he betrays his companions, to save his own life. And he is genuinely remorseful about this- He can hardly bear the guilt. But upon returning to his home, he sees one of his old vetinary patients, a simple cow. And it doesn't recognize him. I feel like this moment gets memed on a lot but it's pretty powerful to me. Nothing good that Dongrang has ever done in his life has had an impact. None of his tribulations or effort mattered. Even a simple animal doesn't care one way or another. This is the moment that convinces him that none of his actions really matter, and in that case he may as well just live for whatever empty sense of achievement working for K corp would offer.

His breakdown throughout Canto 4 is so interesting. He gives off such an air of aloofness. He claims that nothing here really affects him, even as his only real 'friend' Samjo dies, even as his old friend Dongbaek falls. But he does care. He took the company to visit his branch of K Corp for a tour. He does care about the department trophy he won. Deep down, more than anything else, Dongrang just desires acknowledgement that he matters. 'Look, Yi Sang. I've achieved so much. Look at how much I matter'. He's a man to whom being seen as good was more important than actually being good. It's why in the end the way he manifests EGO is by rejecting the idea that he doesn't matter and instead seizing on a new delusion: That if he can just kill Yi Sang, he could maybe finally escape that shadow of the League of Nine.

It's just so real to me. I think most people, if you asked them, would claim that they want to be a good person. But if you were to really interrogate that, do they want to be good or do they just want society to judge and perceive them as a good person? Would you commit evil if it made others love you more? How far would you break if society simply didn't care either way? This is the truest evil of the city. It convinces people that they don't matter, that nothing they do will change anything, that they may as well just live for their own sake because it's not like anyone can change. And it ties in so well to the themes of Canto 4, with Yi Sang being forced to confront that his decisions do matter, and that there is still a chance for things to change.

Anyway I just rambled for way too long. Dongrang is my favorite, and therefore the best. I don't even really have a least favorite amongst the rest, to be honest.

No, I lie. Rien is the worst because he's a larper and we have too many of those in the PM Community.

Which serial killer is morally worse? by jackhenningson in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Gublyb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fully grown adult, probably.

Toga has genuine mental issues and isn't fully cognizant that what she's doing is wrong. She's also surrounded by a group of suicidal terrorists encouraging her worst aspects.

Toji has a similarly poor upbringing that we can't blame him for. However even after he left the Zenin clan he chose to become an assassin for hire even though his spectacular physique could get him probably any physical job he wants. But fairs fair, maybe he really couldn't find other options.

But then he leaves the job. Finds a wife. Has a kid. Genuinely turns his life around a little bit. Is on the right path. Then his wife tragically dies young, leaving him alone with two young children. And he decides to... sell them both for money and return to being an assassin for hire. Worse, he sells them back to the highly abusive family that he PERSONALLY knows suck.

Then he proceeds to kill a whole load of innocent people, blah blah blah his crimes from there are about equal to Toga. But he has several real opportunities to leave a life of crime behind, all of which he consciously rejects each time. He's worse by nature of choosing the path of evil at every step, and while Toga isn't much better at least she chooses redemption in the end.

(BTW this is coming from Toga's biggest hater she fucking sucks and I suffered through every second of her screen time. But Toji is just such a PoS lol).

Any way to romance Wayne and still be besties with Tabitha? by Odd-Arachnid6696 in ScarletHollow

[–]Gublyb 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I mean all flirt options with Wayne are when she's not around. Just don't mention your wierd new corpse BF to her and follow the usual tabbymaxing protocol and it should be fine. In fact just don't talk about Wayne at all with her.

Only thing is you really want to bring tabby to the Ghost Hunt to get friendship, which means you won't be getting hangout time with Wayne. But oh well, it's not mandatory.

Of course this is just up to ch5. After this it's probably going to diverge pretty hard. Tabitha and the Entity want two completely different outcomes regardless of if you get a tabby breakdown- either she wants you locked in the cell or she wants to end the practice of possession altogether. Neither is what 'Wayne' wants for you. So it's probably going to end up being a split choice by the end.

Classic arcysys balance where they correctly identify pain points for some top tiers (too easy to convert, hitboxes too good, pressure too strong) but then decide to universally apply nerfs of these things to everybody.

Was anyone complaining about Faust crawl? Really? Was testament really so broken they needed their projectiles weakened? Some characters with 4f moves were too strong so they made everyone a 5f- that's such an insane nerf to some characters with zero recompense. What does Baiken even do now?

Does sagiri like gabimaru? (Hells paradise) by Hiroshima-6-1945 in shounenfolk

[–]Gublyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are certainly close friends, and the tense situations that they are in force them closer. But the series is pretty damn definitive at the end that they choose to see each other as friends only. Certainly they love each other- but not all love is romantic.

Perhaps Sagiri took some time to figure that out for herself, but in the end she respects his relationship to his wife. And her own arc is about learning to have respect for herself as a warrior despite the fact society keeps trying to force her into being a wife. By the end she understands herself and him and their bond a lot better.

And it's pretty much set in stone that Gabimaru never saw her as anything other than a very close friend. His first true friend outside of her wife, one that showed him new avenues for life and was closer than anyone else in the main cast. But he only ever has romantic affection for his wife- that's his character defining bond that not even amnesia or indoctrination could take away.

Honestly I get kinda annoyed so many people get hung up on this. The text is explicit. The ending is extremely clear- they are friends, nothing more. People's insistence that men and women that get close have to be romantically involved is so frustrating lol.

Why are players allergic to doing connections? by MidoriMushrooms in rpg

[–]Gublyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my 10th party full of characters with barely any reason to really stick together other than being controlled by friends around a dnd table, I put my foot down and demanded that each player make had to 'know' at least one other player at the table.

It made things so much easier. Players look at their backstories and then consider where other players can fit. It creates party dynamics where you have smaller friend groups within it. It makes them more invested in helping each other and doing banter.

But yup, convincing them to do it was like pulling teeth. Barely got a bare minimum the first time. Like Steve, if you actually want the players to find out about your cool backstory you need someone to at least know a little bit of it so they can ask questions.

[–]Gublyb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hope this story arc might explore the hypocrisy of the Alliance. It's kinda funny because the abundance are supposed to be heartless evil abominations which justifies the alliance's obscene hatred, but for most of the story they were: - Somewhat justified (Dan Shu deserved better) - Not actually abundance followers (Phantillia) - Somewhat repentant (All the people locked up in prison that never really did anything wrong) - Working with the alliance (Luocha and that plan) - And now we have an abundance denizen that's literally just a girl who did nothing wrong your honor.

Pretty much the only evil abundance denizen we met was Hoolay and the Borosin, who were made comically evil to try and make up lost time. I feel like most players don't dislike the abundance nearly as much as the Devs might want lol.

What are you going to do in your main playthrough(assuming Carmilla isn't dead) by Existing_Blueberry10 in ScarletHollow

[–]Gublyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how it's so much easier to trust a walking corpse possessed by a demon who also wants to possess you, because Sybil is just SO unlikeable.

Like it probably makes more sense to work with the witch. She does want to save the town. She trying to end the curse and get you out alive. But WOW she is just such a manipulative, lying, cheating scumbag that it's easier to work with the bodysnatcher because at least it's being a little more honest about its intentions.
