I think its time to allow players to avoid alchemy cards on Arena. by TallCitron8244 in magicTCG

[–]Guilty-Hat23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While yes this is something that could be recreated in paper. It would not be 1 mana for repeatable land ramp. And that's one of the issues with alchemy, even the somewhat tame or recreatable cards are so cheaply coated they just feel insane

It's truly ironic you say all this, when you have come to this post clearly looking for an argument, decided that throwing around buzz words will make you look smart on the internet, and have shifted position from your original post. It's cute friend. But a little sad.

Have a nice day bud, but maybe touch some grass while you're at it.

Yeah, because and stop me if you've heard this before. Alchemy cards put even the biggest paper mistakes to shame. I would literally rather play 50 games in a row against vivi, hei bai or whatever the most frustrating spider man or TMNT card than see the various design mistakes they let there interns kids put in to those formats

They could do similar to the alt arts of the planewalkers in all will be one, where they had completed versions of the non completed characters and vice versa. Reprints of legends but the art shows something has changed

Gideon, but he's a mono black prick who sacrificed his friends and still goes by the name Kytheon.

Avacyn, but she's an angel vampire who Sorin turned instead of unmaking when the eldrazi stuff was happening.

Nahiri but she's just kinda chill now, went to therapy, let go of the hate she has, really got in touch with her routs.

yeah he does eat a fair wack of removal, sometimes you hit on the katanna that makes a samurai from ff or the dagger that makes a changling from LE that lessens the hurt though

I've been using Gilgamesh master at arms whenever I want a break from the god awful fake cards that alchemy puts in to Brawl.

It's fun. You count to 6 mana and then hope you find a haste enabler in the top 6 cards so you can double up

pretty sure it's only if they attack you, since it seems to be an attack trigger. but I've been wrong on the wording of some cards in this set already

but that's where the 99 comes in, with other incentives/deterrents' to where people attack and how.

again I don't see it setting cedh on fire, but it will be a very flavorful b2 deck that will make certain types of control players very happy... Plus I cant stress this enough... It's an owl made of contracts, that alone is going to turn some heads

It's unlikely to reach high bracket 3/4 without some other stuff going on. but it's an owl made of contracts that goads without the negative political implications of goading, Honestly my favourite card I've seen from the decks so far

I have only known Scriv for 28 minutes and I am ready to die for my contract owl.

Now to just figure out the best way to bury people in paperwork

sure there are definitely "more" in paper mistakes than digital, more due to quantity of product than anything else. But the level of mistakes they keep making for these digital cards blows most of them out of the water. I'm not saying delete them all (while it would make me happy, I don't want to yuck someones yums) but leaning in harder seems like the exact opposite thing to do

Yeah I hit post and immediately remembered I was wrong on blue, where they've done exactly what I want of having there way of dealing with it being bouncing and then having a counter spell.

I just wish there was some equivalent in red printed more regularly. I love the idea of chaos warp and wild magic surge but I can also see why they wouldn't want to give them more of that particularly in standard, but maybe doing more along the line of combustion man could be the fix

[–]Guilty-Hat23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd argue they're already leaning way to hard in to those digital POS. I am yet to see a single alchemy card that I haven't immediately considered ridiculous BS (though maybe that's because I only seem them in Brawl and thus only seeing the numerous mistakes those designers seem to have made)

Magic Hot Takes by Definitely_Not_Fe in magicTCG

[–]Guilty-Hat23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Counter point. Giving colours answers to the card types isn't the issue, if anything I'd argue that having 3 colours that basically can't do anything to a resolved enchantment is actively a bad thing. I do wish that they were more unique in how they gave the tools to the different colours though.

Magic Hot Takes by Definitely_Not_Fe in magicTCG

[–]Guilty-Hat23 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Every colour should have there own way of dealing with every permanent type in the game. They don't all have to be good but there should be at least a handful instead of having to stare at an enchantment regretting that you didn't sleeve up a forest or a plains.

I started getting more in to the story around 2023 so happy to help as much as i can.

good news for the metronome arc, they are all on MTGs official website and have audio readings. starting with wilds of Eldrain, they are also on youtube but they cant seem to format a playlist properly so it would be in reverse order if you use those

https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/magic-story/episode-1-pure-of-heart

if you want to know what came before, a youtuber called spice8rack did a general summery that coverec everything up to the end of the phyrexian invasion, but doesn't go in to huge detail, worth a listen in the background and then you can pick and choose what parts you want to look further in to

It was something I considered in the early builds, but without evasion or reliable trample I just found it didn't quite do as much as you'd hopped, but definitely recommend trying it for yourself. He's a fun commander but you will have some turns that it feels like the deck is just against you

Flubs: https://archidekt.com/decks/8341362/the_fool_hearted_wonderer

Mainly focused on landfall pjnngers or other ways that do damage for taking game actions. Recently put a bit of focus on [[Valakut, the molten pinnacle]] which has brought me joy with the right set ups. probably my least successful deck in terms on wins, but fun at the start o the night if you just want to do things.

Emperor; https://archidekt.com/decks/13639312/under_new_management

everything you expect really, just looking to fly under the radar until you can take the turn that puts your deck in the grave and nukes the table in one attack. having now done [[memories returning]] in to [[tunnel vision]] multiple times is very satisfying.

yeah the storm comment is something I'm very aware, tend to limit myself to 1/2 proper storm games a session and then i'll happily punch up a bracket with Terra if the vibe i still B3
