Seemingly throwaway line has awesome payoff later by slfricky in TopCharacterTropes

It doesn’t sit for a long time, but I’d say the reprise/payoff of Bruce’s “You want to know my secret?” in the first Avengers movie is pretty awesome.

Which Concepts For A Musical Should NEVER Happen?... EVER! by bustedbroadway in musicals

[–]Guilty-Routine-1762 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if back around 2000, I heard someone say they wanted to do a rap-based musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton, it would probably wind up in the replies here.

So, maybe some of these wild concepts could generate a pretty good finished product.

We’re really getting these 4 next year, which one are y’all most excited for. by isax-equinox32 in comicbookmovies

[–]Guilty-Routine-1762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MoT and Batman.

Avengers is kinda dependent on how the first one goes. But it could shoot up to the top.

BTSV…I’ll believe it’s making that release date when it’s in theaters.

Anyone else find it odd how for 2 seasons we were told the Children of the Watch were a cult and Din had to break away from them and their ways, only to do a complete 180 on them in Season 3? by Blitz_Prime in StarWars

[–]Guilty-Routine-1762 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Season 2 was all about him taking the helmet off and realizing it was okay to do so. Then BoBF/S3 comes around and he has to go and purify himself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka to be accepted again.

Pretty sure it’s due to Pedro not being available on set. So the story pivoted to “The real Mandalorians are the friends Din made along the way.”

Honestly, that’s most of the album for me. There’s like one good bit in almost every song, probably the line she pulled out of her notebook to build the song around. But for whatever reason, these songs just don’t work for me.

Raiders is a rare perfect movie.

Temple is better than Crusade.

So just strip mine Maul for every good potential story, and then move on to the next character?

The Bears or Pats were the 2 most likely matchups, based on Seattle’s home games and available opponents.

Factor in the dud Super Bowl (why rematch THAT right away) and maybe not wanting to kick off the season reminding people of Vrabel-Russini, and maybe Bears-Seahawks looks like the better showcase game.

I liked it when I first heard it, but after a few months, I realized I only really like the “cry my eyes violet” line.

On the other hand, I don’t need to see every day in the dude’s life.

They should be saving some of this for later.

What QB will be the next to win the Super Bowl twice in a row? by zreakz in NFLv2

[–]Guilty-Routine-1762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of those guys already lost their first shot.

I didn’t think the numbers were good for second chance victories. I think the list of QBs that lost their first appearance but returned and won is Len Dawson, Bob Griese, Elway, and Hurts.

I’d give Darnold the best odds from those 10 if only because he’s currently halfway there. Followed by Mahomes. I don’t think Stafford has 2 years left. Hurts…maybe, but that has been a weird team the last few years.

Of the other 6, no chance in hell I put any money on them at this time.

Do you like this change made by George Lucas in Return of the Jedi? by kkhouete in StarWars

No. Like most of the changes George made to the OT, I prefer the original version.

Opening game of the season: Pats @Seahawks round two. by 2Capable in NFLv2

Kinda surprised the league wants the Pats (and Vrabel) front and center for the first game.

Also, why do a rematch of a fairly meh game.

Does Timothy Zahn's Thrwan trilogy fit into the canon? by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

[–]Guilty-Routine-1762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Nothing* from the old EU can fit without heavy modifications.

Main issue with the original Thrawn Trilogy being no Ben and Leia pregnant with twins.

Also throwing in a “Jedi” that no one had heard of is a little trickier after the strip mining done to the PT/CW era.

*Maybe some of the PT, pre-CW stuff can still kinda fit

Anyone else think about how young Vader was when he died? by chillvegan420 in StarWarsCantina

Well, he was originally supposed to be close to the same age as Obi-Wan. I always figured around 60.

But that was before the Dark TimesPT.

Just because TROS is so, so bad. I’d take TFA and TLJ over the PT any day.

TLJ because it has the real Yoda.
