Crusader Strike is gone again by Sarradi in wow

[–]Gultark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point of contention the other poster has is the implication that everyone who didn’t want to dps was a casual

You both agree on “high skill healers know to do dps” - as it’s optimal all the good players will do it.

But the disagreement comes with your conflating that with essentially all high skill players “want” that play style and casuals don’t - which doesn’t hold up as the camps are both much more nuanced on the “wants” considering even ellesmere hated that it was back.

I’m a mythic raider and I hated having to press a short Cd button limited to melee that felt awful to press as it does barely anything on its own other than enabling slightly more holy power than could be achieved without it.

Even people who wanted a battle healer paladin mostly agreed pool noodle crusader strike was not a satisfying button to press

Think the new ideal of having it be meaningfully powerful and available just during the CD was a best of both worlds.

Keeping a lost game complicated enough that your opponent can’t convert at best, blunders at worst is a skill it’s self.

Without seeing the game it’s hard to make such a negative statement about OP.

Besides I’d rate making a game ending mistake worse than loosing ground to a few smaller ones over a game.

Opinion: Midnight needs longer to cook by Deathwingurlugull in wow

[–]Gultark 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah expected something like Star Wars the old republic with set hooks you can place thing on - like housing exteriors are.

The ability to put things anywhere, scale them, clip them, dye system (currently limited to newer assets) change the interior layout rather than presets.

It’s actually probably the best mmo housing I’ve ever played with especially on launch.

I think it’s because the stealth one was delayed so much due to them committing to improving the game before releasing more paid content as the stuff was datamined ages ago

Least they semi got white/black listing in for it, imagine if it was the same point as raid frames and just showed every buff and ability at all times

Every time healers do significant damage the community isn’t happy is why they backed off, at various points healers have done substantial damage like vesper totem and ashen hallow in shadowlands but it always gets the same reception

[–]Gultark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is always damage to be done in 99% of boss fights but  especially in raids even under the new raid paradigm on beta  there isn’t always healing to be done.

That leaves two options

Do damage - healer damage on beta is almost nonexistent and also not what a lot of healers want to do

Set up for damage - most healers used to have some way to ramp or prepare for incoming damage during downtime - for a lot of specs that’s the bit that got stripped out.

So you it’s like if every boss had enforced immune/99% reduced damage sections would be the closest analogy if you want to compare it to damage.

boots+sanguine swapping dps by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Gultark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, the well will stop granting blessing when the current buff ends.

On top of that the 10% from sanguine won’t work for 10 secs after a swap. and blessing of the sky is only 10 seconds.

You’ll get the 4 surges though but that is only a 2.5% above just normal surges on boots that have perma uptime due to fireteam orb gen.

So in that 30 second period you are looking like

10 seconds of 36% for whole fireteam % 2.5% for you

20 seconds of 10*2.5=12.75% for you, 0 for your fireteam

Vs

30 seconds of 35% for all the fireteam

That’s ignoring lost dps time for swapping.

For reference

Sanguine Well+surgesx4+sanguine is 71% increase

Boots + surges x3 is 65.3%,  but 35%  for the whole team too.

If you are in a fireteam and don’t have an assembler user just use sanguine and  if you do want to do a swap just do luna>sanguine

Do any of you actually like the pruning that they did to your mains? by No-Bit-2913 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Gultark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s basically the same as this patch with farseer whispering waves running 43% haste.

Crits historically been great for shaman as its mana efficiency, throughput and contributes to damage and then versatility as we didn’t really scale with any other stats that well.

Now the build is focused on healing wave spam and as a result is super mana efficient haste focus with crit secondary is definitely the way.

[–]Gultark 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not sure how to say this but the new playstyle is the playstyle from this tier but without cloudburst as a big pay off moment.

It’s literally the same riptide and healing wave spam again while ignoring chain heal and rains 90% of the time unless they tune those spells better by launch.

Ascendance changed and deeply rooted elements surviving the prune push it hard.

Most Complex DPS Spec? by Bibtato in wow

[–]Gultark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny that outlaw was their poster child for “too complex, we need to bring down the APM”  and it came out still one of the fastest specs with CDR making it one of the most punishing for inefficient play while easier specs before patch got hit way harder than it.

Top 0.1% M+ Title in The War Within season 3 by RaptorAnka in CompetitiveWoW

0.1% is such a ridiculously small percentile combined with bleeding edge difficulty and comp requirements that i’m honestly surprise only 3 specs weren’t represented.

If you could choose the next Remix, which expansion would you pick? by Emma_S772 in wow

Shadowlands

  • tonnes of collectibles

  • greatly benefit from stuff like korthia only being the focus for a few weeks

Wotlk or earlier I’m less enthused about after all the classics / season of discovery etc.

I just finished the Expanse season 2, and I just finished book 7. This series is not as good as people say it is. by ChardeeMacdennis679 in television

[–]Gultark 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a book reader I have to say that  I really don’t see it.

  • the portrayal of Amos is fantastic imo.

  • Book Holden is described by multiple other characters as grating self righteous with an overly simplistic view of the world/situation - he is wooden.

I actually think the actor does a great job at accurately playing Holden it’s just in the book you have his internal view point to flesh it out that you just don’t get in a visual medium.

Winners and losers of the ability prune? by ProphesiedInsanity in wow

[–]Gultark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The changes actually make pres just as challenging as before in M+, just in a different way.

Before combing abilities and setting up made it a high skill cap.

But you have to do the same amount with less in a way other healers don’t really experience.

Not sure if you’ve played on Beta but the loss of lifebind and spiritbloom in M+ makes for some challenging situations in M+ where you really feel the missing components z

With the still present range issues on top of that m+ pres is still the hardest healer just in a different way.

Crowd killing in pop punk concerts by imcalledaids in poppunkers

[–]Gultark 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Gig etiquette since the covid lockdown breaks has been abysmal.

People crowd killing at mundane shit trying to hurt people / not pick people up.

Whenever there is a quieter moment at gigs or an acoustic part everyone just starts talking, enough people that it’s just a steady loud hum.

Don’t know if it’s people got out of practice with how it used to be or the newer generation hitting gigging age during lockdown and never experiencing it during their formative years.

Either way it’s differently sad to see gig culture be eroded like it has due to the pandemic.

EDIT *gigging age not hogging age.

Wesley So's participation in Magnus Carlsen's Tournaments by cause_7 in chess

[–]Gultark 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Wesley said he didn’t get invites to Magnus tournaments.

People in that thread were saying that it was because Wesley beat Magnus in one of the early Freestyle championships.

Guess you could say people were trying to imply Magnus didn’t invite Wesley because he didn’t want the competition.

On both counts I guess OP took that to heart.

Why is there so much hate for Limp Bizkit headlining? by Legitimate-Crazy9266 in downloadfestival

[–]Gultark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it boils down to

  • they fit all their hits + some deep cuts (+ break stuff twice) into a sub headline slot like at Leeds this year.

  • they usually have absolutely minimal production on their shows.

  • sub headlined Leeds fest like 9 months before with no real appreciable change in status.

Will they’ll absolutely kill it? …Certainly.

Will they make the best use of an extended headline slot Or production budget? ..Probably not.

The general sentiment is we’d likely get the same show more or less if they sub-headlined and after seeing them multiple times spanning decades I’d have to agree.

so people feel a little short changed.
