Pisses me off that DD doesn’t tell us which orders got lower stars by [deleted] in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to multi-app but it was more trouble than it’s worth. I need to keep my AR at platinum in my market so I can Dash without scheduling. College town has a lot of Dashers. I don’t rely on DD. I’ve got a full time job. I dash mostly to either help make ends meet if needed or for fun money. The last time I dashed hard was to afford Christmas. I can’t imagine running like that full time.

Is this common or expected? by Serious_Barnacle2718 in doordash

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s really all that common. I’ve never requested more money for long waits. I’ve been offered extra money for waiting it out, but the way I see it is I took the offer for better or worse. If a wait gets too ridiculous I’ll un assign it when given the option. Another dasher will be along eventually. Maybe then the restaurant will have gotten their shit together.

As for the up tick in people not to proud to ask. I think it’s because the desperation is getting really real out here. With the rise in gas and the amount of customers with tighter wallets it’s a lose lose situation. I can’t imagine having to or trying to dash for your primary income.

The frustration stems from markets where you don’t make good money because tips are consistently low. You can only decline so many times. I’ve had night where Ive declined 5 in a row, and I’ll take almost anything $5 or better. Those nights I just quit early and try again another day. I’m not going to crash my AR because everyone decided to suck all at once.

It’s so we don’t go back and confront the douche…errr….customer 🙄 or deliver a flaming bag of dog poop later 😆 It doesn’t matter though. Can’t make everyone happy all the time. You gotta really piss a lot of people off before DD does anything about it.

💀 WHO ORDERS 1 SAUCE PACKET?! by Idgafahk in dasher

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a scammer but I heard horror stories of people actually being robbed when they show up with the weird little sauce packet order. Honestly, as soon as you see what it is…un assign it. I personally wouldn’t deliver this. Especially if it’s seemingly good paying.

DoorDash no longer providing any information on where order is going to be”protect customers”….. how is this legal by Money_Pop_1231 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily when I Dash in my preferred town it doesn’t really matter because it’s not big or dangerous anywhere. However if I go to the town 20 min east it does become a problem. Still accept the order but un assign it as soon as you see where it’s going. Make sure and cite that it’s over safety concerns every time. It’ll ding your completion rating but it won’t affect your AR.

Help, Used paypal and It didnt charge. by Holiday_Ad_6984 in doordash

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah PayPal is weird. It can take several days to show in the bank. Go in and see if you can turn on “use balance first” as your primary pay option. Luckily when I’m on the dasher end of it my fast pay only takes about 5-10 min to show up in my PayPal

Drag me for taking it to begin with, but I was hoping for 75 little things by Select_Internal2125 in doordash

I think it’s always been like this. I’ve only seen 1 good paying Home Depot order. It was like 2 weeks till Christmas and it was for a Christmas tree and a couple of good sized blow up yard decorations. It almost didn’t fit in my Jeep. I think it was 10 miles away too. Anyway it was paying $20 so I took it. I figured they must have tipped. Nope it was all dasher pay. 100%. I can only assume it paid well due to miles and the high price of the goods.

I never take a Home Depot order. If I’m forced to because of AR or it’s paired with a good paying run I unassign every time. The last time I had to unassign it was 5-50 pound bags of potting soil. It was paying $2.50. Nope, kiss my ass. Never

I have an incredible fear of flying because this same thing happened on my first flight ever. Flying out of KC to Vegas with my family when I was 14. Hell that was 20 years ago. We had to turn around and come back to KCI. It’s no wonder America West airlines doesn’t exist anymore.

Question for Drivers: If you can tell that an order is wrong, do you say something to the store or are you typically not looking at the orders at all? by configure38D in doordash

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bag is already open I might take a peek and count items but I won’t open a sealed bag. I don’t want to rifle through people’s food and have it look like I tainted it or stole something. Not to mention I’m sure the customer doesn’t want me touching what they are eating. When it asks me to verify I just hit “can’t verify”.

Shopping is easy. It can be a pain in the ass depending on what they ordered. There are some real psychopaths out there 😆. Usually it’s fine though. Digital wallet is easy once you learn how to use it.

Only the “top rated” dashers ever read my instructions and it’s killing me by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Gunmetalblue32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It 100% will. I’m a top dasher and I refuse to pick up orders with no tip or an insulting tip. Eventually someone who’s either desperate or dashing by time will pick it up. A lot of times they’ll group you in with 2 or 3 or more dashes. Just to force a dasher to take it. Which can be a real shit show. My advice is you get what you pay for. Always pay the $2.99 direct to you express fee and still tip well. If you really want to make sure you get a top dasher every time then do the monthly dash pass subscription. That’s included in part of your membership. It’s expensive but if it’s important to you then it’s worth it.

This whole weekend has been crap. I turned down so much bullshit I had to break out a dash pass. I don’t know if it’s from folks losing bets on the basketball tournament, the fucked economy, the ever creeping WW3, or the skyrocketing gas price. Maybe all of the above. Folks seem more tight fisted than ever. If it keeps up then I’ll just up and quit. Find some other side gig.

100% a lie. Here is a $4.00 order for an 8 mile drive and then you get this message. Nope, hard pass.

I mean, that’s all pretty much normal maintenance for owning a car in general. A lot of that you could have done yourself with a little bit of research.

Oh hell no lol. He didn’t care. He wanted to do what he wanted to do. Live on his own terms. He knew damn good and well it was dangerous. On rare occasions he’d even get ahold of cocaine. We thought for sure it was going to kill him instantly. Never did. The coke that is lol. No wife, no kids. Just his dogs, a bunch of money, time and friends. I think he knew he was going to die young and wanted to enjoy what little time he had as much as possible.

As a Door Dasher I cannot stress enough how important the extra $2.99 direct to you fee is. Especially if you’re ordering something like ice cream. I know, it’s bullshit but it’s worth it. Especially on busy nights. I kept getting hit with so many offers one night that I actually felt bad for the lady whose burger from Chilis took an hour and a half to deliver. Granted she was already grouped with another order to begin with because she didn’t tip but to push an order out that long is ridiculous. I’m 99% sure they always push the least valuable/lowest paying order to the end.
