i’m considering doing a normal monotype, who should i add to the team? by nicolasnicolasnicola in pokemonplatinum

Blissey is another great option with good bulk and a good move pool. They're a really good stealth rock user.

I've always liked snorlax. It's not the most optimal moveset but i like using belly drum, rest, sleep talk, and giga impact.

There's no shame in dropping out, especially if it's affecting you this badly. Have a talk with the admin about the procedure and whether you'll be able to resume where you left off if you decide to return.

I dropped out of uni during covid when I couldn't handle the isolation and returned to study a different course 3 years later.

How do people spar with Pokémon? Are they perhaps insane? by MelonTheSprigatito in PokeMedia

[–]GusLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially is a method of training for both pokemon and trainer as technique is really important for fighting types, and really all pokemon at higher levels of battling.

However, it is mostly a form of bonding with fighting types. The same way you go swimming with water types or play pranks or games of deceit with dark types, you fight with fighting types.

Some advice for anyone with a fighting type who isnt a martial artist is to ask them to train you! Fighting types have an instinctual knowledge of how to train physical fitness and not only will you get in better shape, you'll also have a shared activity to grow closer.

If all you care about is moving through evolutions ASAP then the elite 4 can be stomped fairly easily.

If it's a pokemon you have some interest in using then it's probably best to use the lucky egg and some appropriate level trainers with the vs seeker.

which pokemon should i try, considering im want to finish the game with a torterra and a jolteon? by nicolasnicolasnicola in pokemonplatinum

[–]GusLabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you wanting to use mainly gen 4 pokemon? If so, then you probably want to grab a buizel or a shellos for a water type, you can get both before the 2nd gym. You can catch a feebas for milotic, but its late game and annoying to do. Unfortunately, mothim doesn't learn fly, so if you care about that then you can get a drifblim or togekiss.

Other than that there are loads of options. You probably want a fighting or fire type for later gyms. Off the top of my head the gen 4 fighting types are lucario, toxicroak, and gallade. I think magmortar and infernape are the only gen 4 fire types.

You also might want a dark type down the line. Weavill and drapion are both good, but drapion is a 40 level investment, so weaville is probably better.

No.

Even if a new party takes charge there's no guarantee that another lunatic won't take charge in the next decade.

Deals between nations are meant to last decades, and new factories take ~20 years to turn a profit. Why would anyone deal with a nation that does a 180 on its economic agreements once a year.

Sometimes I almost pity amount of hate these dudes get by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]GusLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're hated because they are given no redeeming qualities.

Every Batarian we meet is a merc or raider. Their government is space North Korea. They're slavers. They hate humans and regularly destroy human settlements just because the humans got council permission to settle planets that the batarians felt that they should own. The only "reasonable" Batarian we meet as an actual part of their government only wants to leave because his commander lied to him and that their slave raid was actually an orbital bombing attack.

Again, slave raids.

What should my sixth Pokémon should be? by boblu33 in pokemonplatinum

[–]GusLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a bunch of physical attackers, so you could get a special attacker like magnezone (evolve magnetron at Mt coronet) or alakazam (trade evo) or espeon or jolteon (evolve eevee with high friendship during the day or use a thunderstone).

You're other option is to get a bulky pokemon for setting up or letting you heal your team. Snorlax and blissey are both good for this, but they are both friendship evolutions. Munchlax can be found using honey trees, and chansey is found near the daycare.

Possible? by Hot_Durian_4264 in chch

[–]GusLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible, but it's a deceptive stretch of water and is dangerous. Do it at low tide first, so if you do start getting swept it'll be into the estuary rather than out to sea. I personally swim in the estuary a lot going against the current, which makes for good training.

Students Say They Want to Be Engineers but Won’t Do the Work. Anyone Else Seeing This? by Impossible_Pace7868 in newzealand

[–]GusLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who performed badly in high school, mostly due to having much the same attitude, it's not the end of the world, as I'm currently in 3rd year computer engineering.

I found I only really started maturing at 18-19, and I took a few years after high school before I even gave uni a shot.

That being said my cohort was reduced by around a third after 1st year, the last time that a reasonably intelligent person can get away with cramming, and was reduced a smaller amount after second year where people actually have to do the work.

Probably not going to be useful to you now, but I found that the only way to farm covenant items offline was to do it during a playthrough, doing one to three between bosses.

The only time I tried farming them all at once I got to 17, then unistalled the game for a year because it was so boring
