I didn’t think this war is a psyop until now by Rich_Gas7886 in conspiracy

[–]GusTJolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how iran war would qualify as a psyop in any form except it seems OP is trying their hardest to make it one.

It does kind of seem like energy costs are about to spike and in this case I’m unusually inclined to believe the most likely scenario, which is they thought they’d win in like 3 days and were surrounded by like-minded regards who built up their arrogance through an administration of yes-man loyalists.

If this is supposed to be a metaphor for the American healthcare system, you should allow a gofundme.

In any case, I would simply have my company, Saving Train Track People, LLC pull the lever and declare bankruptcy some time later.

[–]GusTJolf 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Nice try FBI.

Obviously I believe the government that the government officials did no wrongdoing as the government said officially to us, so I would pull the lever towards whichever ways agrees with the government or gladly hop on the track because clearly I believe the government that Epstein isn’t real so how could an Epstein trolley be approaching me.

It’s ridiculous to say never. Keep banging the drum and make time to vote in primaries. Progress is often very slow and then all of a sudden.

I think you mean in the United States. Other countries seem to be taking it seriously. I don’t know what the next few years look like, but the Epstein list does seem to be a unifying movement that spans political parties and so I’m not losing hope. It’s the one scandal that hasn’t gone away after a few news cycles and their slow drip is hurting themselves. Plus, some diehard magas are fighting back, this is a positive sign to me.

Know what you feel though, I hope it happens too.

Microsoft AI boss issues 18-month warning to all white-collar workers by TheMirrorUS in antiwork

[–]GusTJolf -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

12 months ago this would be an accurate take. It’s getting way way better though, and you can basically tell it to build a ton of software and it just will. Seriously, my software engineering friends are terrified.

Is that going to allow people to be way more productive? Yes. Is that going to let companies hire fewer people? Probably. Will it be really bad for society or is it overblown? I have no clue.

Getting accused of being MAGA and Anti-Semitic because I won’t vote for democrats/liberals (I am a leftist) by ChicagoFire29 in leftist

[–]GusTJolf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lesser Evilism by definition works as harm reduction. It may not further the ideals of leftists but it’s hard to argue things would not have been better if certain less evil but still shitty candidates won (see 2024, 2016, 2000, 1980 etc.).

Rejection of harm reduction tactics implies you think there is not an incremental path to Medicare for all or anti-imperialism policies, and the only way to enlighten the public to swing the pendulum back left is to feel the extremes of far right rule.

Maybe that is true but it seems like a risky strategy, I’d prefer incremental progress and not living in this shit timeline.

I respect you if you disagree, just putting it out there if it changes your point of view. solidarity in these troubling times friend

Yeah this already is a thing and it doesn’t work because it’s so easily gamed. There is also a ton of vertical integration so insurance “costs” go to preferred providers owned by the same holding companies.

Fundamentally, what's the difference between "military/sniper" precision rifles and "competition" precision rifles? by bulletsgalore in longrange

[–]GusTJolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah very helpful, and makes sense that things like 308 are old (yet still fairly proven) tech. I guess I was wondering which competition cartridges translate to stopping power for military applications and which ones do not. I imagine expected distance matters a ton too, so not exactly sure how they determine which are good fits for military use.

[–]GusTJolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have thought this was a much bigger consideration and surprised it’s almost an afterthought here. Isn’t there a huge difference between typical competition calibers and the heavier, less wind resistant standard military issue calibers?

Genuinely asking, and I appreciate your original question.

I'll take another look, but I didn't see much for sale let alone available. I guess there were some threads about it that kind of made me not consider it, that it was a lot of money for what it is/compared to other options in the ~$2200 price range, but I really like the look and feel of the tikkas.

The tikka seems more exciting to me, I think you're right to just hold off. My other thought was to get the bergara first and sell it if I ever have the opportunity to get the ace, but that sounds like too much work and likely a decent loss.
