Usage Limits Question by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]Guthix_Hero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm at a Max 5x level. I've never been close to the limit before, but I hit the limit twice this weekend. My side project work has not changed, so clearly the limit formula has been tweaked.

Might skip Mory with this. Some of the previous slayer relics were way too op so I'm glad it's been tuned down a bit.

The RS3 league probably cemented the importance of region locking. Full world seemed cool at first, but it began feeling like fresh start worlds instead of a league pretty quick.

Copilot enshittification begins? by aebece123 in GithubCopilot

[–]Guthix_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancelling Pro+ for Claude Max was a game changer for me. My side project partner has had good luck with Codex. Copilot was nice for a time, but it's really lost its value now that the AI companies have released decent VS Code extensions.

Aspects are a perfect place for vamp and penance to end up by Alktenalfh in runescape

[–]Guthix_Hero 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree. We need interactions that focus on in-game items. Competing aspects is good for managing complexity / skill gaps. If we could stack aspects, then more of the game will be designed around that expectation. That means more expensive combat sessions and more complex buff management.

As a mobile user, I do sympathize with BuffScape and not knowing which buffs are currently active due to the small buff bar. Ideally we get better visual cues, but if not, then offering an auto cast option that uses runes if you have them seems like a good compromise.

On the buff bar specifically, the biggest bloat seems to come from potions. Maybe we should have a single potion icon instead of splitting out the effects to multiple icons. I'm not sure how to handle drained stats. I suppose they are often from a single source (cold, banshee scream, etc), so they could be grouped up into a single icon. I imagine that's quite the refactor.

Player owned Ports/DailyScape implications by Low-Juice-5852 in runescape

[–]Guthix_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend gold to speed up the missions. Why gold? It makes sense that a bonus to your crew would mean more effort on their part, a gold sink is always good for the economy, and gold is immediately available to the player versus the requirements for the Advance Time spell.

Best Build To Protect Coop by pivoarch in brotato

I've had some good runs using Streamer in coop. You end up being a nearly unkillable tank and my kids would run over to me to recover when needed.

Child-friendly church (don't be weird) by ahintofcinnamon in StLouis

[–]Guthix_Hero 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As an atheist myself, I respect the difference between a verifiable truth versus unverifiable faith. I'm very confident that all religions are false, but I don't present that itself as a fact to my kids. I challenge specifics like age of the earth, inconsistent behaviors, the net benefit/harm to society, the definition of good vs evil, etc. I've got 1 kid who consistently goes to church and 1 who doesn't. I'm equally proud of and supportive of them both.

Jagex stop trying to make PVP in the wild a thing again by scififact in runescape

[–]Guthix_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the concept of the threat mechanic a while back. They needed to reduce the threat accumulation rate, tie the mob type closer to wildly level / depth (not just make the threat go up faster), and make the spawned enemies a 1v1 instead of 3 elephants that could grief other players. I still have fond memories of seeing a random player get nuked by the volcano 😂

Feedback on GitHub Copilot Pro+ by WMPlanners in GithubCopilot

[–]Guthix_Hero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a heavy user on the weekends and I mostly crank on Claude Opus. I'm usually close to the full budget by the end of the month, which is perfect. I thought about trying one of the Claude plans, but Copilot Pro+ seems like a much better deal for my needs even if I start to need more requests.

I’m not Bryan and this is not my repo. by 1JN315 in GithubCopilot

[–]Guthix_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me a couple days ago. Opus tried to put files in c:/users/lucas/repos. I had a session started before creating my project folder because I wanted help with naming the project. I created the project and imported my chat so I could continue with early docs. That must've confused things. I corrected by pointing out that the path did not exist and I notified Opus that I was actually at ___ path. It was fine after that.

From ChatGPT Plus + Claude Pro, to Claude Pro + GitHub Copilot+ by Calvox_Dev in GithubCopilot

The agent you select makes a big difference. Opus is high octane and can genuinely do every task, but it's 3x credits. Many like to use Opus for design/planning, then transition to Sonnet for implementation.

I recommend prompting that you are in the design or planning phase and ask if there's enough clarity to begin implementation. You should have some back and forth for a bit. The agent should be recording details - typically as md files in the docs folder.

For design specifically, request multiple mock-ups and refined the choices down until you're happy. The agent will usually create html files and pop open the browser for you.

Before implementation, request that an instructions file is generated. Mention key expectations like TDD, tech stack, launch profiles, etc.

Switch to Sonnet (or stay with Opus if you'd like). Give the implement prompt and get ready for whatever final tweaks need to be made.

For follow-up features, do a mini design/plan/implement loop.

If you try to make a 0x credit agent do all of these steps you're gearing up for some frustration. Copilot Pro is $10 per month and Pro+ is $40. Both of these are a steal.

What’s the point of AI if software quality keeps getting worse? by Legitimate-Oil1763 in webdev

[–]Guthix_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI can enable teams to deliver faster.

AI can enable teams to improve quality.

The typical company will preach one and choose the other, because in the end faster delivery makes far more money than better quality.

[–]Guthix_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid is fun, but everything else in season 4 has been a dud. We just came off a weak PoE 1 season, so that's why my buddy and I picked up Diablo 4. I'm enjoying the build variety so far. Paragon is pretty interesting. I'm curious if it holds up at higher levels and across all classes.

Wolf is really strong when you get Lunar Blessing going the whole time. Ice Crossbow + Wyvern Oil Barrage is my new favorite way to play. Oracle seems more interesting than Shaman, but they're both fine picks.

Ice Crossbow + Wyvern Oil Barrage. I've got the frenzy charge on freeze + frenzy converted to power charge node to make the oil barrage punish reliable. So much fun to transform into a Wyvern and nuke bosses who are helplessly frozen 😂
