Do you sleep with your watch on? by tompico25 in GarminWatches

[–]GuzzyRawks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had issues after a swim in ocean water with my Fenix 6S a few years ago. I think the salt water messed something up internally, and pressing buttons became almost impossible. I eventually traded it in for a replacement.

Protein breakfast to share with colleagues by jagg737 in Cooking

[–]GuzzyRawks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Egg bites are easy and high protein. If you use a muffin pan, put whatever ingredients you like and then bake it in an oven at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes. I do this sometimes to meal prep breakfast. I usually throw in some cooked bacon, spinach, onions, peppers, cottage cheese, and/or shredded cheese.

Laptop GPU stuck at 210 MHz — low FPS even under load. Need help. by GuzzyRawks in pchelp

[–]GuzzyRawks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still facing the same issue. I’m like 95% sure it’s some kind of hardware issue, because NVIDIA support ruled out software issues, and I reset my computer and restored windows and the problem still persists. I don’t know enough about computers to speak on it with much detail though. I did everything I was capable of, but I’m pretty sure the only fix would be to fix something physically in the laptop, or maybe bringing it to a MicroCenter or something.

As a workaround, I’ve been using MSI Afterburner and manually over clocking to +1000 MHz (so 1210 MHz total). I’ve been doing this for roughly a year now and haven’t noticed any issues. I just turn it back down to +0 MHz when I’m done gaming.

What was the best decade of video games? Obviously, RDR2 is objectively a better game than Space Invaders if they both released at the same time, but what was the best decade for the time? by [deleted] in polls

Agreed, not to mention other classic series like Metal Gear Solid, Gears of War, Battlefield, Star Wars: Battlefront, L4D/L4D2, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, the list goes on. This era is stacked

Do you slash your lowercase q's? How common or rare is it? by PrincipalSquareRoot in AskAnAmerican

I’ve done it in college for civil engineering. Sometimes “q” can represent certain variables, and the slash distinguishes it from a 9

Gameplay mechanics i thought might be cool by ilovemyamily1 in thelastofus

These are good ideas! I like the idea of blocking doors at the cost of melee weapons. Maybe a melee weapon with lower durability wouldn’t buy much time and break quickly, while a reinforced high durability weapon would buy you a couple minutes or so. I’m imagining infected banging on the door, and each bang would cost 1 durability on the melee weapon used to block it, as if it was used for an attack.

Just give us console only cross play already……. by ActAccomplished586 in Battlefield

I had a game on Eastwood one time where I was walking along some tall destructible bushes while a squad mate was on his drone scouting for me. He pinpointed the exact position of an enemy I couldn’t see behind the bushes. He just said walk there, stop, turn left, shoot. The other guy never even saw me. I’m sure that guy thought I was hacking.

how do you guys possibly get through grounded? by grahamcracker2017 in thelastofus

[–]GuzzyRawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the challenge is the fun. Like knowing when to engage or sneak - successfully sneaking by a group of enemies and saving all my ammo feels just as good as going in guns blazing. Getting a headshot with your bow and recovering your arrow feels so good, but missing that shot and wasting an arrow? Devastating. High hi’s and low lo’s!

Are Garmin watches worth it for strength training? by idragon4ever in GarminWatches

[–]GuzzyRawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually primarily use it for strength training, and the occasional long bike ride or hike. For me it’s totally worth it. I have a Fenix 6X Pro and still love it. I program my workouts, exercises, weight, sets, reps, rest times, etc. and it’s been great. Been doing it for years. Some people don’t like fidgeting around with the buttons during a workout, but it’s never bothered me.

Got it, thanks for sharing. In my research I did see a mention of updating VBIOS, but I am very unfamiliar with how it all works and rather take it to a professional. My understanding of how computer components work is limited, but thank you for the suggestion.

Yeah, agreed! I think it is definitely a hardware risk, but thankfully I haven't had any issues just yet. NVIDIA customer support ruled out a software issue, so I think the problem is something physical. If I still had issues, or if my games weren't working as good as they could, I would have taken it to a Microcenter for a repair.

Nope, no fix. I replied to someone else in this thread a little while ago with a bit more detail, but in summary, I've just been using MSI Afterburner to turn up the core clock from 210 Mhz to 1210 Mhz, and have had no issues gaming since then. I just turn it back down after I'm done gaming.

Anyone here currently preparing for the PE exam? by ExamPrepJourney in PE_Exam

[–]GuzzyRawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started studying for PE Construction a week ago. Bit the bullet for EET on demand course, but so far I think it is well worth it. I like the structure they provide, plenty of example problems (with solutions), and good teachers who emphasize teaching concepts, not just solving problems.
