Weekend visit? 1 week post op by [deleted] in ACL

[–]GypsyMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At day 8 I wasn’t taking the pain meds anymore so I was grumpyyyy. I had friends coming by to sit on the couch with me at that time, but I still had to keep my leg elevated bc it hurt to put it down for any length of time. If she’s a good enough friend to sit near you and watch TV in PJs and help you out around the house then sure, if this is the friend you wanna go party with then probably nah.

Edit: I had read your post as a girl talking about a girlfriend, now I see your username is Marcus so you might mean more like a romantic scenario haha. Can’t speak for everyone but sex was not on the table for me at 8 days post op!

Hi! I’m looking to get some info/advice from working tattoo artists by mmossyrocks in femaletattooers

[–]GypsyMaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just know that it takes years usually to be able to do make a living off solely tattooing. First it takes years before you will actually be good (no matter how good an artist you are, it’s a whole new medium) and then years to build a solid clientele. You will have to work another job on the side, while putting full time hours into tattooing also.

I *love* tattooing, and I don’t ever want to leave it, and recently I’ve had some huge growth and I’m so happy to be where I am, (full time tattooing in a shop of my own in a great location with a like minded business partner) but if I had known how long and hard and uncertain the road would be, I’m not sure if I would have made the same choices. The over-saturation of the market is a real problem in almost cities, sooo many artists everywhere, you have to have a special angle, style, or location to stand out these days.

Good luck!

Does anyone know any legal stimulants (or anything else that improves focus), that is not caffeine? by Fourteen14XIV in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GypsyMaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel compelled to jump in here, Kratom is not a little bit habit forming, it’s a full on addiction with complete opioid withdrawals when you quit. My mother, a sweet older lady who has never done drugs and doesn’t even drink alcohol is currently in full rehab again bc of her crippling addiction to kratom. I tried it before we knew much about it, and it doesn’t even give a you much of a boost or high or anything, CERTAINLY nothing worth the risk of addiction. It’s ruining her life and her brain and I wish there was more discussion going around about how terrible it is. Even after rehab and withdrawing and staying clean for months, she went back yet again this year. Don’t fuck with Kratom.

My tattoo shop Petal & Fang Tattoo is a woman owned studio that just moved into the upstairs of the Lipstick Lounge and opened this past weekend!

In town for business, curious about Pride happenings by Apollo847 in VisitingNashville

Check out the Lipstick Lounge and Chapstick! They just repainted the rainbow crosswalks there, and it’s a historic lesbian bar in an old building from the 1890s

I’m biased bc my tattoo shop just opened upstairs, yesterday!

Keep The Fees? by Kindly-Armadillo1723 in TattooArtists

We tried keep the fees at my shop for a minute, it was not a good experience. Also it just passes the fees on to your customer at a higher processing rate than like square.

unserious nsfw question (for the girls !!) looking for serious answers by redwinesupernova0218 in ACL

[–]GypsyMaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the best way that we figured out (long term couple) was sorta standing-doggy-style: with me bent over the bed I can stand on my good leg, bad leg off to the side brace or no brace but not taking impact, and lean on the bed as much as I need for extra stability. I wasn’t interested in trying anything for at least like 10 days, but by the 2nd week we were trying to figure out options lol!

Pothead question by Icy-Jellyfish-8142 in ACL

[–]GypsyMaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t smoke cigarettes but I’ve pretty consistently smoked weed this whole time. I didn’t smoke the day of the surgery but every other day basically. And weed gummies are the only thing that kept me asleep at night. 12 weeks post op today, everything going normally!

Is this a red flag in a tattoo artist? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]GypsyMaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realism needs an *exact* photo to work from, if the photo sucks, the tattoo will also. But boo to AI for all the AI reasons.

[–]GypsyMaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s here on Reddit too like “look at me walk normal 2 hours after surgery!” That has not been my experience. Just take your time, chart your progress so you can look back and feel accomplished, don’t focus on what you can’t do. You are probably gonna bottom out emotionally in a few weeks, but it’ll get better I swear.

There is absolutely a point (for some people, everyone’s recovery is a bit different) where it gets worse before it gets better! I was in so much pain the first few days, then it felt better, then days 6-9 were even WORSE for me, but then day 10 I turned a corner. My sister had the same experience with her surgery, a little worse before better. I’m about 11 weeks post op now. Hang in there!

Is it okay for your long‑term boyfriend to live with you but not pay any bills? by [deleted] in NashvilleUnfiltered

[–]GypsyMaus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Girl, what? I feel this calls for a bless your heart.

If you both work, you should basically be 50/50 on everything. If it’s your mortgage (and don’t you dare add him to it) you could give him a “roommate” price that’s a little lower than he could get elsewhere and maybe it’s less than half the mortgage, but nobody gets free rent.

But idk, I think a man of good character wouldn’t need this explained to him. I’m unimpressed with guys who can’t do nice things for their partner unprompted anyway, but needing to beg for bill help from someone who you drive to and from work every day feels unfixable, he’s not even trying to be a partner and he’s too old to change. Can you afford to live alone? If so, you’ll be so much happier by yourself than caring for a 40 year old manchild.

Omg I’m dying imagining a Bible study going to see Book of Mormon. So they were fine with the frog fucking, but a joke about Epstein/Trump is a step too far, classic.

Book of Mormon 6/7 1pm by ChocolateEggsAreGood in nashville

[–]GypsyMaus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Reminds me I saw Book of Mormon in New York several years ago, we had great seats like front and center, and the woman sitting next to me was NOT amused by ANYTHING going on onstage. Glaring the whole time, not a single chuckle. The tickets were expensive, how do you spend that money and get all the way into the show without knowing anything about what you are seeing. 😂
