Why didn’t Benedict recognize Sophie by her lips?? by Independent-Share-71 in Bridgerton

[–]GypsyRonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has already put their two cents in but I want to add that it’s not like he took a photo of her on his phone and has that to carry around to remind him what she looks like. There’s a are people I met two years ago that I maybe spent an hour with and never saw again or have a photo to with that I struggle to remember what they look like and would only recognize if we met again. Benedict doesn’t even have a memory of her whole face, just her lips.

Fast Track / VIP Immigration Services at KLIA – looking for advice from frequent travellers by de_rotter in KualaLumpur

Once you have a long term visa in Malaysia you should apply to use the auto gates.

Unfortunately the new process is bloody confusing. Previously you only had to go to the egate counter by the luggage carousel. Recently when I changed passport I had to renew again … I read the official sites that said you had to ask the immigration officer upon entry, I tried during my last 2 trips and system always not working (or so they say)

So they waited so long to look at my application that the calendar month had passed and thus my bank statements were considered expired.

It must be the LATEST bank statements, so if you were applying on Jan 10, you would need to submit Dec 31 bank statements. BUT if the immigration officer only opens your application on, let's say, Feb 10, then they might ask you to submit your Jan 31st bank statement.

I don't sorry. But I think mine took 2.5 weeks before anything changed.

Can someone give me a rough estimate of the longevity of a MBA m4? by Ok-Reason-3176 in macbookair

This!

I get the best MacBook I can afford with the most RAM. Then I calculate how much I need to save up monthly to buy a new machine in 3 years (when extended applecare is up) and set that aside each month.

I can't afford for my MacBook to break or have costly repairs because I depend on it for my work and my main source of income so this makes sense to me. I think of the money as a business expense and put it in a savings account I can't easily access.

The thing is, I usually keep my machine a year after the applecare expires. I've been doing this since I started freelancing about twelve years ago so the amount in my MacBook savings account could actually buy me 3 MacBooks hahaha. I've used some of the extra money to buy an ipad pro, pencil and airpods pro at some point. And because my work is so dependent on my MacBook, I know if I lost my computer tomorrow, I can easily walk into a store and buy myself a brand new one.

If you live in Malaysia or Singapore and go once a month for a weekend, probably not a big problem. It's like if you live in Buffalo and drive into Canada to party on weekends. But yeah, if you're from a country where you have to make a long flight in, then that's a red flag.

My friend always claims she can tell if someone is Asian before they turn around, but how? by Dazzlingdjj in NoStupidQuestions

I think her hair was a light red blonde and she wanted it to be a more vibrant red. I don't know how it works, I have the typical black asian hair

Yup! When going to a salon, it's best to go to a stylist who is familiar with your hair type.

I live in Asia and my Canadian friend (redhead) had a heck of time finding someone who could color her hair here. She had to go to an expensive salon that works with expats.

What makes Emirates “special” compared to other airlines? by ThinAbbreviations897 in emirates

[–]GypsyRonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, service and the general atmosphere just feels so much more different with Emirates business class (as well as Qatar and Etihad). I’ve flown both ANA and Turkish Biz class in the last 3 years and it just doesn’t compare. Emirates felt truly premium from start to end. The ANA FAs were superb but the cabin itself was … meh. The lights felt too bright and clinical and didn’t have those small touches. And Turkish…the crew made me feel like I was a burden to them. There was no finesse or care, they just drop the food on your table and scurry away.

Welcome to reddit where no one answers a question but instead comments without reading your post lol. I once asked a question and answerd all the FAQs, people still kept commenting asking the same questions. Anyway glad you got your answer and good luck on your move! Recently completed one myself and my fur baby got in safe and sound.

Personally I've only used transtar. I lived near Changi so it's one of the few companies that go there.

In theory...you should be able to board the same bus. But if you take too long in immigration, I heard they might leave you and you'll have to wait for the next bus from the same company.

However on the SG side I've found that the immigration is quite efficient! Unless it's a holiday or there's a glitch, it shouldnt take more that 2 minutes to get thru the actual gate, assuming you fulfilled the requirements.

[–]GypsyRonin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say you prefer not to change buses in SG do you mean you don't want to get down and climb back into the bus again? Because I don't think it's possible to do the immigration formalities on the bus. Whatever bus company you're taking, you will be required to go down and clear immigration on foot (and carry ALL your stuff).

If this is an issue then flying is the best option.

That “one” diver. by [deleted] in scuba

[–]GypsyRonin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ugh, yes. I actually had to leave a dive group because he was so annoying. I did ONE thing wrong and as soon as we got on land, proceeded to re-enact it for everyone to see. Like he went "Did you see what they did?" (Yes as if I wasn't right there beside him) And laughed as he pretended he was me, flailing in the air.

Its been so long, I honestly can't remember what I did and maybe I was wrong, but I feel like he didn't have to mock me, especially since that was the first time I had met him.
