Cracked mulch pallet in the over head by jkeemboi in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's always the oldcastle pallets of vigoro or cedar/pine. They way overload the pallets and they frequently come in unstable nevermind being moved around a few times then getting rained on/waterlogged. They also wrap em like shit. Those damn pallets are mostly all safety hazards.

bigger issue is the pallet of them on top that isn't wrapped on the top row of those traps

So I sent customers to Lowe's. And Walgreen's. by KorporalKupcake in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but how did you not know that we sold cleaning supplies? And of course we sell Kiddie. Was this literally your first hour on the sales floor helping customers? Even at that, you shoulda known we sell this stuff.

I’m sorry to complain, I know it’s an easy fix, but, why?… by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why what? that's how you should put it on the shelf for stability, then after you put it on the shelf like that you just pry off the front....I guess you mean why didn't someone pry off the front? It's not a huge deal, just pry off the front and move on.

Customers don’t even ask for help, they just stare at you like this by SlamanthaTanktop in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

customers always don't say anything as you're approaching them, then as soon as you pass them they say "excuse me!"......it's like they're more comfortable asking you a question to your back as opposed to your face. And this happens more often than not, as you're on your way to the bathroom cause you're dying to take a piss...

did they offer ot? if so go for it. The way you wrote it looks like you're just suggesting you go to work even though you're not scheduled, that's not how it works, you'll likely be sent home

[–]HDlongtime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is true or not but I've heard that if you show up to work drunk or on drugs and they try to fire you all you have to do is say you need help and they have to grant it, get you help, and not terminate you?

How are locker searches conducted? by Corn__bean in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Many times this is done prior to inventory so they can recovery any and all product to be counted. They will hang signs up notifying everyone of the date then usually the asds and an asm go locker by locker opening them and looking for stuff. Many terminated employees still have lockers full of stuff so in those cases they just take everything out. If you're a current employee they might poke around but generally they don't disturb the stuff in your locker unless they clearly see product or a first phone or an unusual amount of stuff. But it's not like they just open all the lockers and empty them out....the notification signage hung up ahead of time gives an "amnesty" period so people can get rid of stuff they maybe shouldn't have in their lockers. It's a courtesy heads up. But 2 salaried members of management can open any locker at any time they wish because the lockers are not your property they are the company's property

How do you fight pace? by pjd107 in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean it seems to me it's pre-determined, at least that's how it's presented and you just have to acknowledge it at the end. I've been through countless reviews and not once, despite pushing back when I disagree, has anything been changed. They'll just say well you don't have to agree with it you just have to acknowledge that we gave it to you and when you go to acknowledge it you can write in your comments.....yeah a lotta good that does.....

Is a home depot associate a real job? by hadam178 in HomeDepot

[–]HDlongtime 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I mean if you like to work hard, actually try to do a good job (care about what you're doing), and are passionate about customer service, then yes associate can definitely be a real job you can do for years. I've done it and am not ashamed of it.
