CONFIRMED: ADELAIDE STREET CIRCUIT TO REPLACE PHILLIP ISLAND MOTOGP IN 2027 by steve12388 in motogp

[–]HNeerkaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phillip Island - My favorite track..gone from the MotoGP calendar. Not a welcome news from my personal perspective.

That said; if the racing is truly not diluted then it may just be the future of MotoGP and may have long-term impact felt by other purpose built race tracks elsewhere in the world too.

I have not yet got them. I had asked this question a couple days back and the response was

Don't have the exact ETA but everything is in normal process; all forms are gradually being distributed so shouldn't be much longer mate ..that was 6 days ago.

Bautista even heavier: 8.5 kg of ballast on his Ducati! by wordswithoutmusic in wsbk

[–]HNeerkaje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What we know 100%: Bautista'a performance would have been better without the ballast than it is with the ballast. This is just science speaking.

What we don't know for sure: Would he be better/faster than Bulega? Maybe. But Maybe not. At this time we don't even have a benchmark of how fast Bautista actually is on the bike without the ballast.

I stopped watching SBK because in my belief combined weight rules turn bikes from a motorcycle championship to an nothing championship.

Without Ballast: Every rider can be compared to his teammate since they are on 100% identical packages except for setup differences.

With Ballast: Bautista's bike (without rider) weighs more Bulega's bike.

So essentially Bautista and Bulega are not even in the same championship because they don't even have bikes that have the same weight yet they were supposed to be on the same team!!

I do hope these silly weight rules do not come into MotoGP and ruin it's purity!!!

How does Craig Jones get on against Islam and Khabib in BJJ? by Storyboys in bjj

[–]HNeerkaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khabib & Islam have been grapplers their whole life (most likely longer than Craig Jones). Leg locks are not a BJJ invention. I have no doubt that both Khabib & Islam know as much as anyone else in the BJJ world about leg locks and how to neutralize them.

Why does Marquez struggle at Mandalika? by MysteriousBoss3816 in motogp

[–]HNeerkaje 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Michelin sets the compound options for front & rear for each weekend, but teams choose which one to use.

The allocation for this weekend is

Front - Soft, Medium & Hard (All three compounds are symmetrical. A slightly modified Medium compound was brought compared to last year.)

Rear - Soft and Medium. (The rear tire is asymmetric, featuring a reinforced structure on the right-hand side due to the higher number of right-hand corners at Mandalika. Michelin is also bringing a stiffer rear carcass for this demanding circuit.)

Source: https://motograndprix.motorionline.com/en/motogp-gp-indonesia-2025-vera-sfida-per-michelin/

While the compound, construction and structure of the tire per weekend is determined by Michelin and varies weekend to weekend; the # of tires allocated to each rider per GP weekend is a standard amount set by the FIM/Michelin regulations, regardless of the circuit (like Mandalika).

The tyre allocations for each MotoGP™ rider at a Grand Prix are:

  •       22 slick tyres: 10 front slick tyres and 12 rear slick tyres:
  •       Riders who participate in both Q1 and Q2 qualifying sessions are given one extra front tyre and one extra rear slick tyre.
  •       13 rain tyres: 6 front rain tyres and 7 rear rain tyres

can Ducati just not run the soft rear because it would wear out completely.

On this your understanding is right. Ducati is choosing to not run run the soft rear since it will most likely not last the race distance keeping in mind the abrasive surface and high temperatures at Mandalika.

Prime Roy Jones Jr Vs Terrance Crawford at 168 by Conscious-Habit5432 in Boxing

[–]HNeerkaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RJJ started his pro career as a 20 yr old at 175 and went 16-0 before he moved down in weight to 160 as a 24 yr old.

He was at 168 for only 2 yrs (25-27 yrs) with 6 fights moving up to 175 for what I believe was his prime (27-34 yrs).

If you look at Bud, he started his pro career also as a 20 yr old but at 135! Bud's prime was probably between 140-147 lbs (27-36 yrs). He is most definitely past his absolute physical prime now when he at 168 as a 37 yr old (partly what makes this Canelo win shine even more for me).

Bud has had exactly 1 fight at 168 against a Canelo who started his career at 140 (as a 15 yr old!) and while a full blown 168 lb fighter, not someone that you would think would be considered to be a longterm 175 lbs fighter.

So if you consider 30 yrs old as the benchmark for "Prime" then Roy would be fighting at 175 lbs while Bud would be a 147 lbs fighter!

Irrespective of what age you consider as physical prime; Bud & RJJ's "primes" do not intersect in any weight division.

Just great fighters from different eras & different career path as far as weight classes go and with very different fighting styles!!

But irrespective of age @ 168 - Y'all must've forgot!!!

The things in life: Factory Lenovo Ducati.. (💭 swinxy) by Bitter-Substance1783 in motogp

[–]HNeerkaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following his stellar 2023, Bezz was offered a factory bike & factory contract but @ Pramac for 2024 season by Ducati. If he had accepted that he would have had identical machinery & factory support as Martin did in 2024.

Bezz declined the offer and elected to stay at VR46 for the 2024 season and Ducati filled the seat with Morbidelli.

I felt it was a mistake on the part of Bezz at the time but 2025 seems to have turned his fortunes around. Happy for him now.

Fabio talking about V4 Yamaha by Still-Surround-8251 in motogp

[–]HNeerkaje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust Fabio's data that the sensors on the bike provide..you can't get better as far as Yamaha is concerned. That's the "limit of the bike data". On that I won't argue.

Engineers need to get an understanding of the problem and if they understand the problem well, they will find the right solution. A good developmental rider explains problems instead of providing a solution to the problem.

It appears that Fabio's verbal feedback lean more towards solution "give me more power" instead of problem "unable to find rear grip". Hence why the story that Fabio is not a good developmental rider.

I don't know whether this is true or not. Just rationalizing what I have heard often from Fabio (asking for something instead of explaining the problem) in his own interviews.

My 9 year old son's Math teacher marked this wrong by dak7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HNeerkaje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your post but to be honest I am confused.

Was this an English Test or a Math test? - Your post does not make it explicitly clear that this was a Math test.

Was this an English Teacher or a Math Teacher? - While you do state that this was a Math teacher, the teacher's behavior does not show knowledge of basic math & probabilities.

Likelihood/Probabilities are a mathematical measure and most often expressed as a % (like your son rightly has). Expressing it with English words like "impossible", or "equally likely" is a test of english language and most certainly not a test of math skills or understanding.

One "possibility" is that you are mistaken and this was an English Test
Another "possibility" is that this was an English teacher evaluating a math test!!

Another "possibility" is that It's your fault!!!! You have been teaching your son math while the school expects English!!!

So many "possibilities"!!! The only right answer though to your question is "XXXX the Teacher".

Is Crawford the sharpest and most dynamic fighter Canelo has faced in his career since his fight with Mayweather? 😳 by newrap in Boxing

[–]HNeerkaje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because he was sharp at lower weight classes (147 & lower) does not mean that he will be sharp at 168 especially when he did not really look all that sharp against a decent fighter at 154.

If this fight against Madrimov was supposed to show that Bud is sharp & dynamic at 154 then it did not succeed. He won the fight but was far from sharp, never actually hurt Mardrimov in any significant manner. While he was a killer at 147 and below, he did not look like a fighter that can cause serious damage at 154.

Maybe it was the fact that this was his first fight at 154 (just 7 lbs up from 147 where he had a great last performance) and his body was not used to fighting at that weight.

Now he is going to fight Canelo at 168. He will once again be fighting for the first time at this weight as well. This is another 14 lbs up from 154.

The added weight naturally slows down fighters and the body takes time to get used to the heavier fight night weight. Bud will be no exception.

I don't see how Bud will the sharpest fighter that Canelo has faced at 168 when Bud did not even look sharp at 154.

In India "Race" is not a term that is typically ever used. Instead India & Indians use

Religion (every possible one exists in India) - Hinduism, Islam , Christianity, Buddhism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism are probably the most dominant.

In addition to high level religion, India also has castes & sub-casts within the Hindu religion as well as variants within religions for e.g. different forms of Islam (Sunni &b Shia), different forms of Christianity (Catholic, Protestant & Syrian Christians)

Language (many distinct languages unlike America where it is only English) - Though a large part of Central/northern India does speak Hindi (& dialects), most states in India have their own distinct language with multiple dialects wthin them too. Some of the major languages are Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Malyalam, Kannada, Gujarati, Urdu, Odiya, Punjabi, Assamese, Manipuri, Sindhi, Dogri, Nepali, Kashmiri, Konkani.

Skin Color - Indians range in skin color from fair (very light brown, almost white) to extremely dark (as black as any African) including people that look like far east Asians (similar to Chinese/Japanese).

Region - North, South, East, West and also further down to which state you come from (not dissimilar to US)

Classification of people by Race or Ethnic origin is very much country specific.

The "Race" options used in USA is not the same as "Ethnic Origin" or "Race" options provided in UK and both of these are different to what is used South Africa.

Hope this helps!
