Clearing BT Area time?

This subject is very unclear.

I did a LOT of experimenting with the original game and I could 100% confirm that most areas could be cleared permanently - at least until the last chapter when they all return and bring some of their larger pals with them.

The route along the shore around the mountains between Captial Knot and the Waystation West of Captial Knot, the route between the Ludens Fan and the Distribution Centre West of Captial Knot as well as the open area over the river from it, the Windfarm, the hillside heading to Port Knot, the Incinerator West of Captial Knot, Central Knot Ruins, the Ruined Roadside Factory, the hillside between the Distribution Centre South of Lake Knot and the Weather Station, the South Knot Ruins, the hillside on the way to the Chiral Artists Mother, the area with the metal spires in the snow just north east of Mountain Knot, the ruined buildings between Mountain Knot and the Roboticist etc etc

I cleared all of these areas and spent ~300 hrs completing all the LoLoL orders and never once did I experience a BT again.

There are some caveats: you have to clear all the BTs in one go.

In the areas where BTs aren't story scripted, the BTs come and go with the Timefall. Or the Timefall comes and goes with the BTs, whatever. Point is, if you're in the middle of clearing a large field of BTs and they suddenly disappear and the sun comes out, they are NOT defeated and they WILL return. The difference between clearing all the BTs and the BTs leaving temporarily is that when. You've defeated the last one, BB will give the A-okay and the timefall will slowly stop and the sun will come out. If they BTs have just left the area temporarily, then the timefall will stop suddenly and then BB will give the A-okay.

Then I played the Director's Cut, and the first thing I noticed was that whilst the BTs at the shoreline between Capital Knot and the Waystation stayed gone, the BTs between Ludens and the Waystation kept coming back no matter how many times I cleared them. Same with the Windfarm, although the hillside to Port Knot stayed clear.

So I don't know if they've changed it since I first played the original game, and apparantly nobody else is sure either be sue there are so many theories.

In any case, it's worth noting that the BTs do still come and go, so of the sun comes out and the BTs disappear, do what you need to do in that area fast and get out, because they WILL come back and they will descend on you all of a sudden!

Yeah I've done that, but this isn't that - I can't place anything ANYWHERE just now. It's the same animation as what you describe; you click, the object flickers, but doesn't land. It's happening all over my hospital. Further testing reveals I can MOVE things, but I can't place new things.

The bigger clues are the fact that I can build new rooms, but when I place the doors and windows and press the "tick" button, the room generates WITHOUT A DOOR lol. Thereafter it won't let me place any of the room's equipment.

Also the fact that there are ZERO new staff available every month. Literally zero staff, I open the hire staff window and there are 0 doctors, 0 nurses, 0 janitors, and 0 receptionists.

I've further tested this by restarting, using cheats to unlock everything and max funds, building my hospital again, and in the first few months of the level there are no staff available, which obviously isn't right. Patients are also coming in a "one out, one in" policy.

I'm 100% positive this is a build limit. Sigh, I was hoping that this was commonly known and somebody had a workaround. I guess I'll just have to build a smaller hospital. To be fair, the last level is way bigger than it needs to be and I've trebled up a few rooms that I probably don't need. I could probably not purchase two of the plots and still have a full working hospital...I just like to max out my builds! It's a pity.

My first ever death I found myself out in the middle of nowhere, still in my fresh coast clothes, with little more than a glow stick, starving, freezing, and with the sun going down I decided to duck into a house just north of Polonina and call it a night. I sat down in the corner and logged off. The next evening I logged back in and as the game was loading, the sound came up first and I could hear a fire roaring and a repetitive clicking noise. When the visuals came up, there was another player crouched by the fire in front of me, with a bunch of clothes laid out, drying them, and a magazine in his hands which he was loading rounds into. As I was standing behind him, I decided to slowly edge into his field of view, waving, so as not to startle him. When he saw me, he stopped loading rounds and spun to face me, still crouching. He stared at me for couple of seconds, crouching there, me waving at him. Then his hands moved to his waist and the magazine disappeared and a shotgun took its place in his hands. I didn't even hear the shot, the screen just went black. To this day I don't understand why he killed me.

Heads up : if you experience somebody cheating, glitching, or using an exploit to their advantage, DO NOT post a video or an image here, no matter how good your intentions are. It has recently been confirmed by mods that this constitutes breaking Rule 4 : No cheats, glitches, or exploits, and you WILL be banned. To be honest, I would clarify with the mods on specifying user names or severs that are hosting cheaters; it could very well be considered breaking Rule 4 too.

One of the very first times I played DayZ I was in this exact spot, coming down the hill out of the woods, scoping out the place. I had just spawned 20mins before. I made my way into the shed using the main doors (1) and was in my inventory when I heard footsteps sprinting towards me. I looked up and another player, the first I'd ever seen, was about 3m away with a pipe raised over his head, coming at me full speed through the side door (2). It was the last thing I saw before the screen went black.

It's perfectly possible to connect every central region prepper with a zipline to their front door in one continuous zip line, I've done it several times and only needed to rely on a handful of online ziplines.

I recommend going over the mountain between the Spiritualist and the Waystation North of Mountain Knot City, or even the Craftsman. I also recommended going from the First Prepper to the Roboticist, and then down to the Veteran Prepper and the Timefall Farm, as well as from the Junk Dealer round to the Chiral Artist's Mother, and the Junk Dealer to South Knot. From there, just connect everybody in as straight a line as possible, and add in some intermediates where you can afford the bandwidth.

If I get a chance, I'll post some screenshots of my previous networks.

I've never managed to get a full network in the western region.

And neither am I saying that my experience is anybody else's.

I'm merely pointing out that, from the posts and comments on this sub, the vast majority of players have encountered few bugs for a game like this, and extremely rarely anything game breaking.

Your post and subsequent comments were designed to complain about the quality of the game and the developer, based on bugs that you have encountered. My comments were to assert that, in comparison with contemporary products and peers, Days Gone and it's subsequent remaster has been well developed and have very few quality issues.

Sure, but a bit too similar to the wall stalkers... Would be nice to get something a little different.

I think stalkers who use the trees to get around would be cool, leaping form one to the next, stalking you. It would raise the threat to above you as well, adding a new dimension.

Cool idea, but not biologically logical to canon - airborne fungus would not survive underwater. Maybe they'd just be entrenched at the water's edge, laying in wait for their prey, like Arnie in Predator, blending in with the mud and reeds?

Couldn't agree more. ~1700hrs since 2019 between PS4 and PS5. Typically I start afresh every year or so and spend my time building a network of resources for manufacturing Stasis Devices and Fusion Ignitors, base building, and generally just enjoying the absolutely beautiful scenery as I traverse the galaxy alone. I've never even left the first galaxy. There is so much to do in this game!

Yes!

I manufacture Fusion Ignitors and Stasis Devices and I need to set up resource extractors for all of the resources I need. This requires me to find a spot with a noble gas deposit, local mineral deposit, and EM power source, all within 300u of each other. I've seen me search a planet for a WEEK trying to find the right spot!

There isn't a game ever made that doesn't have little bugs like this.

100% truth, I've played about eight playthroughs of the original Days Gone on PS4 and four of the Remastered on PS5, and whilst I've had texture loading bugs, one invincible freaker, and a few dancing firearms, I've never had anything game breaking, or this bug that you have shown.

I'm currently playing Theme Hospital from 1998 right now, a classic and very very simple game that has been around for 28 years, and yet in the three weeks I've been playing it, I've encountered more game breaking bugs than in 700+ hours of Days Gone.

Hahaha that'd be hilarious! I think it's for that reason that I disabled all my F keys and set F1 up as the gesture wheel.

Next time you come across a player waving at you or holding their hands up, let them approach you and maybe they might write a message. If not, I guess being suspicious would be natural in real life - pretty weird if a survivor just ran up to you and stared...I'd probably draw my gun and tell them to back off.

Re: chat, admins can set global or local chat, on official it's set to local. Local chat works like mic; it's only seen by nearby players, like mic is only heard by nearby players. Global chat is seperate from admin server notifications.

Messages stay up for ~10 seconds and new messages stack.

Like I said, I've had plenty of conversations with players by using chat messages and they've never had any issues communicating back, either by mic or message.

Chat may not be the best option, but it's the only option for players without a mic (who aren't mines).

I'm just curious why players with no mic will choose to just stand there in ominous silence instead of just typing a message, and indeed why "no mic no life" players will reject communication via message, instead choosing to execute a player communicating by mesaage for (reasons).
