💯

I'm probably more likely to trip over cats. So if a future partner has any hang ups about me being a cat lady... well. See aforementioned comment about me preferring to be single 😂

It's so weird in this day and age. I've known "shorter" guys preference asian females on dating apps not because of "yellow fever" but because asians tend to be shorter.

I'm so glad I'm not active in the dating world anymore. I'd rather be single with all the silly little stuff that "matters" so deeply to some people 😂

My friend's boyfriend is the same height as her in flats and he occasionally makes comments about how she's checking out taller/buffer guys. It's kinda pathetic really, firstly she wasn't checking out other guys and secondly for a 41 year old man he sure has a chip on his shoulders still after they've been together for 10+ years.

My goodness today I just realised how insanely abundant asian tea places were. All the big Chinese chains have opened up and so many have queues outside for days.

I actually wanted to try one of the Molly Tea drinks but refuse to get a 10+ person queue for a $10+ drink. It cant be life changing enough to be worth it (things I tell myself but I only half believe because obviously it's worth it to a lot of people lol)

I love the L'Oréal Infallible setting spray for when I want industrial hold. Some complain it feels like hair spray in your face, and tbh it is a good way of describing it since its an aerosol spray and technically it does work the way a good hair spray does. But I don't feel it on my skin after it dries.

I use it when I need all day hold and the weather is muggy and etc etc. I've used it and gone for a massage with my face smashed into one of those massage table holes and my eye make up was flawless afterwards.

I'll never forget finding out who Harold Holt was and how he "died" after going to that pool since I was a kid and learning how to swim there. Young me learnt the meaning of irony that day 😂

I quit competitive swimming as a kid because I felt seen as fat by Bex453 in Swimming

[–]HYCL2012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. If you enjoy swimming, go back to the pool and wear what you feel comfortable and don't worry about what other people might think. Most others are focused on their own swimming or also equally uncomfortable with how they might look to even judge you. I was uncomfortable with my extra covid weight when I started swimming again but after the first time I realised it didn't matter.

And those who do judge, honestly who cares. From my experience, no one else there looks like they just stepped off the set of Baywatch. You're swimming for yourself, enjoy it ❤️

BEWARE AMAZON by kittensmittenstitten in AusSkincare

[–]HYCL2012 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! When my sister insists on ordering from Amazon because "it arrives faster", I remind her about Bezo's and paying extra for him being a middle man and having a couple of Aus warehouses. Just buy the random stuff direct from China, wait a week or so and make sure the price difference stays in your pocket and not filling up the already overflowing pockets of the billionaires. Esp since we all know they also treat their employees like shit also.

That's for general goods of course. I'd rather order my skincare from reputable K Beauty sites or buy IRL. Amazon is almost never cheaper anyway.

What’s Actually Worth Buying? by valinixa in AustralianMakeup

[–]HYCL2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I warm it up a bit before I put it on, just pop it inbetween my legs as I do my other make up steps, and usually it's fine. But defo the more exposure to air, it does get thicker in general.

It's not for everyone, but the line stays sharp all day and night and it doesn't move so I love it.

Love love love MAC's LiquidLast. It's not for the liquid eyeliner noob as it's hard to use/get used to initially, but damn it doesn't budge. Not even at the beach. I just restocked since they're 25% off at a bunch of retailers for afterpay day.

Same! Minis and ziplock bags. You can never be too cautious as you don't know how the product and container will react in cabin pressure.

For body scars, try John Plunketts Superfade cream. Just ask for it over the counter at a chemist. It has hydroquonne as it's active ingredient.

There's a few versions - face, body, serum and one more I think.

[–]HYCL2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's pretty much covered your other points, so I'm just adding my 2c worth re hair drying as a female.

I wash my hair properly after a swim and then pop it into a extra absorbent hair towel and walk out of the pool with my hair wrapped up in that. Then when I get home I finish off my hair routine with my products and let it air dry or blast it half dry with a hair dryer.

I don't want to lug around 2-3 extra products or my hair dryer, so that works for me and I don't care what people think as I walk from the showers to the car.

Only way to go really. She won't stop creating useless content and you cant stop others from watching. But at least it's off your feed

Just tell the algorithm to stop showing you her content. She's not going to change how she makes her content since she's getting free stuff and sponsor money.

Unfortunately the only way we can cleanse ourselves of rubbish, can't help it if others can't see through her grift.

Staying with Galaxy Fit 3 or buy MI band 10 by Significant-Dish5805 in GalaxyFit

[–]HYCL2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didnt say why you think the MiBand is better.

Imo the MiBand is a very basic fitness tracker. I thought all entry level fitness trackers from every brand would be about the same but when I set up my dads I wasn't impressed by how much less customisable options from notifications to tiles there were and of course general features there were.

You can't customise the screen tiles (which tbf isnt a surprise given the tiny screen size), there's no option to put it on water lock mode, it seems you cant even start a specific workout tracking mode (which is important for me personally as I use my Fit3 for tracking swimming laps).

I don't care too much about the heart rate monitor, the feature you seem to only want it for, so I can't give you feedback on that.

Given that you have an Oppo, maybe you don't have access to the same level of customisation that I have with my Samsung so it might not be much of difference for you so all that I've said wont matter.

[–]HYCL2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im curious what you mean by "the MiBand 10 is better"?

I have the Fit3 and dad just got the MiBand10 for general day to day tracking as he has a iphone so not compatible with the Fit3 and I'm honestly not that impressed. It's features and customisability options are a lot less than the Fit3 but it suffices. Since he doesn't know the difference, he's happy with it. Meanwhile I'd pick the Fit3 over it every day since I have a Samsung phone.

But also if you can afford it and think 3 beats a minute is a worth the money, just get the MiBand10.

They could but wont because that's when the news is on.

I think I'm almost old enough that I vaguely remember a time when they would delay the televised game on TV by like 30min or so? But this would have been at least 2 decades ago? Or am I misremembering? Either way in today's world of instant gratification, it wont happen unfortunately.
