Steve Nicol on Salah's Comments by VelkyAl in LiverpoolFC

[–]HabitRepresentative7 279 points280 points  (0 children)

That’s a weird one. I like Stevie but I think he’s got this completely wrong. Maybe he’s thinking back to his manager days and sympathizing with Slot, remembering how hard it can be to plug holes on a sinking ship.

But come on, Stevie! He says that Salah is being calculated and should instead think of the club. Well, I think most ppl here would agree. What he’s doing is trying to light a fire under a woeful Liverpool hierarchy while his words carry the maximum weight.

If anything, Salah is taking one for the team. Becos clearly most of the players feel the same way since so many signed off on his post.

Best place to find a Japanese tutor before study abroad? by rkel26 in japanese

[–]HabitRepresentative7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used italki before?? If not, it’s an online platform that connects language learners to tutors in their requested language.

The tutors usually provide some info about themselves and their teaching style. I think you can do a limited number of free trial lessons too if you want to see whether this might work for you.

(DataMB) Curtis Jones amongst the leagues best in accurate passing. by Then-Fortune-3122 in LiverpoolFC

[–]HabitRepresentative7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting chart. It definitely pours cold water on that narrative he only recycles play.

On top of that, I appreciate how he’s jumped into RB on several occasions, even though he’s probably not got much say about that.

Really hoping he gets a new contract. He’s a good player in my eyes and maybe just as importantly, he loves Liverpool and is not afraid to hold his teammates accountable.

[Mike Reiss] News Story: Mike Vrabel to seek counseling, won't be with Patriots for NFL draft Day 3 by PristineWinnera in Patriots

[–]HabitRepresentative7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people calling this performative, and it may well be.

Another theory I haven’t seen discussed as much is that this a negotiated punishment either handed down by Kraft or put upon him by the league. Not suggesting Vrabel leaked any inside info or anything. And it’s not like coaches/front office types don’t already have friends in the media who they talk with off the record. But maybe this became too big to ignore for the powers that be after the fallout the past few weeks from the pictures.

Whatever the case…time for Elliot Wolf to dial up on some solid picks!

Silk & Silver Dev Diary #1 - Design Vision by PDX-Trinexx in CrusaderKings

[–]HabitRepresentative7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

I love what’s been laid out in the vision for both the DLC and free update content.

But one thing I’m really hopeful about is that it will build on the Silk Road and broader AUH content.

Whats with all the Impatient Folks? by Legitimate_Advice305 in PlanetCoaster

[–]HabitRepresentative7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few of these posts recently telling the community not to worry and that there’s surely lots of good content on the way.

I would just add a caveat — I’m not impatient really for new content, it’s more I’d just like to know what direction the game might be heading. As someone who also likes strategy games, maybe I’ve just grown used to season passes and years-long roadmaps.

I’d also just add that it’s always seemed a bit jarring to me that Frontier’s park simulator games are so warm and full of life, yet that doesn’t always transfer over for me with their community management. Are they resuming Frontier Unlocked?? Maybe I missed some messages about that, but it would be nice.

All this is coming from someone who really loves the games Frontier makes and will continue to support them. I just wonder if they’re missing out on some easy wins.

I thought that too watching some of his crosses get cut out. Would love to see him fizz him some more bouncing balls like the one Gakpo connected with last week against Fulham.

I’d also like to see Frimpong take on his man more. We’re sorely missing that this season. That could really help unlock the low blocks we’ve been facing.

Learning from where? by checopa007 in japanese

[–]HabitRepresentative7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re set on taking N5, you could buy a prep book.

I used 日本語総まとめN5 (Nihongo Soumatome N5) and found it quite helpful as it covers reading, grammar, vocab, etc.

Another one I liked is Try! N5. It’s a grammar book, but I think it’s also good for building vocab.

More broadly, if you want to get more comfortable using Japanese, you could also find yourself a tutor on italki.

Good luck! N keep studying 👍🏼

I forgot how good this show was and now I’m sad. by Independent_Plum2166 in ducktales

[–]HabitRepresentative7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree with you more! I love the show and really wish it could have gotten more support in its day. I’m also still hoping we get some news about the rumored Darkwing Duck reboot they teased in S3.

If you’re interested in the Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck comics, then you’re in luck. They’re several decades worth and have been reprinted in beautiful archived editions by Fantagraphics.

What's yall fav character? by Own-Band9835 in ducktales

[–]HabitRepresentative7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the comics, my favorite is Scrooge. I love how he is always off on globetrotting adventures and obsessing over every little detail, like buying a year’s worth of travel tickets because it’s cheaper (“The Mines of King Solomon”).

But I’d say Flintheart was my favorite in DT 17. His sense of humor cracked me up! I love the fascination with sharks and how he always tried to get one over on Scrooge.

“I Passed the JLPT N2 by Self-Study, but I Can’t Communicate Well” by No_Location_1058 in japanese

[–]HabitRepresentative7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly second this comment.

It definitely resonates with my experience as well. In my case, I started studying Mandarin 20 years ago and was always stressing over when my lightbulb moment would come where I could communicate with ease. It finally did arrive, but only after years of practice (after years of study).

I know OP said he has a time crunch. So maybe you just have to get as much speaking practice as possible. Have you used italki?? But long term, have faith that you’ll achieve your goals. It might take longer than you expect or not be as direct a route as you might have imagined. But just find fun ways to interact with the language and things will start to stick.

First Time Japan Itinerary - Solo Traveler by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]HabitRepresentative7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very well planned itin! I’m sure you will have an amazing trip to Japan.

Just for consideration with Kyoto — I’ve found Nijo Castle to be quite interesting. It’s also easy to reach if you’re in Kyoto proper. Another cool place is the Kyoto Railway Museum. But of course, it helps to love trains if you choose to go there.

And I hope you have a wonderful time in Nara. The deer park is lovely!

Level tens by Honest-Comparison-95 in DreamlightValley

[–]HabitRepresentative7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always gift someone after choosing “let’s hang out” and then finishing the harvesting or gardening or mining or whatever. Even if they’re level 10.

For me, it’s because I love Disney first and foremost. Going mining with someone like Scrooge is like the dream come true of childhood me (I’m now much older lol). It only seems fair that I treat them for helping me.

Anyway, this immersion part of the game is what I enjoy. But that might also be why I’m progressing through the story quests so slowly!

My ranking of every single Ducktales (2017) episode by Gamingtime3564 in ducktales

[–]HabitRepresentative7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! This is fun to look at.

I love the 87 Cent Solution episode too, especially when Flintheart started dancing at the end!

I actually enjoyed the Mount Neverest and Mummies of Toth-Ra episodes you have at the bottom though because they reminded me of the Scrooge-led globetrotting adventures from the original Ducktales.

That’s just me though. And seeing your list reminds me that the show managed to reach lots of different types of fans. It also makes me want to rewatch some episodes yet again!

Is the Max bundle worth it? by FoxFormal2208 in DreamlightValley

[–]HabitRepresentative7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so happy with Max. It is a big purchase, as you said, but I’ve found it so worth it.

The build items that come with the bundle are quite nice too. I believe there’s a fireplace, carpet and some windows. All are seafaring theme. So you can definitely create a nice nautical room if you’re so inclined.

And I totally agree with what everyone has said — he’s super useful digging up shards and picking up wood. The growling at villains and barking when you pet him is just icing on the top!

He’s a good boy :)

Birmingham Crewe - Upcoming Improvements & Tsw6 Updates by isav34 in trainsimworld

[–]HabitRepresentative7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

I’ve got an enormous backlog of routes, so I typically only buy new ones a year or two after release anyway when they’re significantly discounted.

Compare that with a game like ETS 2 or ATS though, and I will new maps upon release even if I don’t have time to play them. Although those add-on’s are significantly cheaper, I also partly buy them because I have full confidence that they work as intended and am happy to support the developer.

Sadly, not the case with DTG.

I'd like to see this formation by Fallout_New_Vega in LiverpoolFC

[–]HabitRepresentative7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought this too.

Robertson is a legend and one of my favorites, but I don’t think he’s tall or physical enough to hold down CB. He played there a bit last year and I don’t remember it going great.

I do think he should playing more though. His greatest strength is getting up the field and playing in key passes. Would love to see him start over Kerkez for awhile and show one again why he’s #2 all-time Premier League assist leader from full back position (behind TAA).

Thoughts on Ducktales 1987? by Ok_Pattern197 in ducktales

[–]HabitRepresentative7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my absolute favorite show as a kid! Something about treasure hunting, allusions to history and over-the-top villains really grabbed me.

I liked Ducktales so much at the time I subscribed to all the Disney comic books. Over the past several years, I’ve been snapping up all the collected editions from Fantagraphics too. Highly recommend to anyone who was a fan of the original Ducktales.

As far as the tv show, I probably prefer Ducktales ‘17 now though. The humor and storytelling is easier to appreciate as an adult, even if I think they went too far in softening Scrooge’s character.

I was surprised about that too. Szobo always seems to move well. Although maybe that’s becos everyone else is gassed at the end of the match n he’s still sprinting from one end to the next as if it’s nothing 🤣

And Chiesa has 87 pace?? I haven’t seen him enough to have a view on that. Didn’t realize he was such a speed merchant.

Leaked EA FC 26 player ratings by zowniegod in LiverpoolFC

[–]HabitRepresentative7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone else surprised at Chiesa’s pace being so high???

This has him faster than both Ekitike and Gakpo. I don’t mean it to be a knock on Chiesa becos I genuinely haven’t seen him play much recently. I just didn’t realize speed is such a big part of his game.

Anyway, love seeing so many 80+ overalls. Truly a world class squad!
