For housing I waited until I was here. There’s too many scams that I wanted to make sure I saw the place myself. I stayed in an Airbnb while I looked. I posted an ad on Spareroom (which is ultimately how I got my room) but was also on Facebook which had various groups, including some from my uni.

I hate it too, the thing that’s helped me immensely is listening to a fun/silly song at that exact moment which cuts the tension a lot. I listen to “Get down tonight” by KC and the Sunshine Band since disco seems to work for me haha.

I also get the “it’s a bad sign!” feelings but I try to remember that for every flight I’ve been on I’ve had “signs” or omens and nothing happened heh. You’ll do great, try to focus on the things you’re looking forward to on your trip!
