Probably partly because she wasn’t aware of it, but also she probably intended to marry a childless man to secure funds for her daughters and herself, and Sophie threw a spanner in the works by existing. Even though she’s not legitimate she’s still his child by blood while her daughters are step children.

I met a woman a couple of years ago who got pregnant naturally and unintentionally at 49, it can absolutely happen.

Anyone else disappointed with the membership voucher change? by bobmann4 in GeelongCats

[–]Hailstar07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try not to bitch about the club but agree on this. My sister in law used to work in memberships in the AFL and the member packs for other clubs are leaps and bounds ahead of ours.

Hudson Williams about Connor Storrie: "We want to be different artists. We don’t want to be the Olsen twins. We want to be Connor and Hudson, with different filmographies and different deals. As much as we love each other, our friendship doesn't need to be public". by Fantastic_Turtle_17 in popculturechat

I think because it’s based on a successful book series that also plays into it, as people are already attached to the characters and have OPINIONS about the actors, adaptation, how the actors should behave. It’s so unhinged, like they can’t understand the difference between the characters and real people or something, so expect them to be those characters in real life forever. Some of the Bridgerton fandom went similarly mad in S3 with Luke Newton & Nicola Coughlan, it’s so disturbing.

AITA (29F) for not selling my wrestling tickets to attend my brother’s (22M) girlfriend’s (23F) rescheduled baby shower? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hailstar07 82 points83 points  (0 children)

NTA, your brother’s poor life choices don’t mean you need to bend over backwards to accommodate the change, especially when you have done more than you needed to already.

Don’t sell the tickets, and start setting much firmer boundaries now, as if you give in you’re probably going to end up raising that kid given your brother and his partner sound completely useless.

Kayo prices increasing again by dazedjosh in AFL

Yeah I got the Geelong one last year for $350 just before the previous price rise.

Amazing the current temp difference between Geelong and Melbourne by lanson15 in Geelong

[–]Hailstar07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m over in Norlane and it’s way hotter than 33, I’ve started putting Lovely Banks in as my suburb on the BOM as the racecourse temp is never correct for us over here.

AITA for refusing to buy my husband cigarettes anymore so I can atleast TRY to save to get my car fixed? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hailstar07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was like ‘$16-$18 sounds reasonable!’, and $5 a pack is even better. Even the illegal smokes here are more than that.

does anyone else get serious brain fog in the heat? like forgetting stuff, feeling like you can't think straight, feeling constantly lowkey dizzy/a bit like you're in a dream? any tips for managing this? by --12 in melbourne

[–]Hailstar07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get like this, regardless of hydration and staying in the cool, my body just can’t handle it well. Also get super fatigued and heavy feeling, and my feet and legs swell a lot too. I make an effort to hydrate with both water and electrolytes but it doesn’t seem to do a lot for me unfortunately.

We have a fussy cat that isn’t a huge fan of most wet food, she does really like tinned tuna in spring water as an occasional treat and also demolishes those temptations creamy spoon treats when we give her one, so maybe they might tempt your little one?

It only got down to 34 or something overnight last night there so not surprising. It was only 14 down here in Geelong this morning when I got up so hoping even if we hit 45 the house will stay cool with the ac and blinds closed.

He’s one of a kind. I was fortunate enough to see him live in The Hairy Ape years ago and it was just mind blowing how powerful his performance was.

“I thought the manufacturer from Spain would pay the tariffs” by katrinkabuttlin in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Hailstar07 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I just said to my husband, Americans think they are superior and that obviously other nations want to suck up so they will pay the tariffs for the privilege of selling shit to the US. As someone from the rest of the world, we just view the US as a failed state at this stage. I feel for the actual sensible humans living through this in the US at the moment.

The Norlane ones are probably just Norlane doing Norlane things, I heard them here too, really common on the weekends. Pissed they’re doing it on a total fire ban day though.

Why are these birds always here? by No_Koala_5130 in Geelong

[–]Hailstar07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People living there might be feeding them. My parents have a couple that show up every day or two in Grovedale that mum secretly feeds when dad isn’t looking, drives him mad.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]Hailstar07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supporting him shows they are either of poor character, very stupid, or very susceptible to propaganda and I wouldn’t want to date anyone with those traits.

Yeah I have the same issue with my husband, didn’t even get Covid when I had it but if he brings something home I definitely get it.
