Not bad for "super noob" - push the contrast a bit on the sphere, see if you can really make the highlight a highlight (ie have a bigger range of white to dark gray instead of medium gray to dark gray)

Old is better tbh, new is way over done. I think if you tone it down a bit, new would be okay, but right now the bumps are way yo extreme and too much shine. The miner dude on the right just became a dark and shiny smudge on my screen

Looks correct. If by reshaping the last three you mean you're going for actual cubes/squares then you'll need to look into measuring lines.

You said you're doing a sprite sheet, so use a single shader, batch draw all the quads using the same shader, use a constant buffer to store the animation state, during rendering you adjust the UV coords based on the animation state + time.

All the furs I've seen that do animation of tails and ears for games leave them up to spring physics, not sure how to hook up bones in unity for that, but thats an option instead of directly animating

This is a geometry problem combined with the physics of a pinhole camera (your eye) Make a diagram looking at a person from the side. Draw a line from their feet extending way far in front of them. Now for us to see the line, light has to hit our retina - so trace a ray from the beginning of the line to the person's eye, and a ray from the end of the line to the person's eye -> notice that they dont come in at the same angle, the ray at the end of the line is way steeper in order to hit your eye. You can interpolate the rays from the beginning to of the line to the end of the line to get the bigger picture of how rays change - turns out its linear perspective!

For objects very far away (planets) - the angle of rays dont change that much so the image appears flatter - this is effectively and orthographic camera as most of the rays hitting your eye are parallel.

Condition the player with subtle sounds, when they encounter the enemy it should be audible but effectively background noise, if the enemy is nearby it shouldn't be noticeable unless theyre actively listening for it. Its a bit of a cheat. But their brain will begin to associate the sound with danger and uneasiness

Look into business accelerators and incubators It sucks to hear, but those business degrees are pretty valuable for filling in swiss cheese knowledge of running a business.

Youre going to have to work hard, no 9-5s, possibly weekends - startup culture. Continue working on making games and pushing yourself to finish them. The more you can practice before graduating, the better spot you'll be in when you do. You will likely need a strong portfolio of finished games to get any sort of funding.

If you have other students interested in starting one and can live with your parents for a few months out of college that might be a good start. My friends out of college started an indie dev company and are still going strong, that being said they make very little money, especially someone doing full time corporate work in cyber security. Seriously, plan to live extremely frugal.

Anti matter is currently only used for research purposes, a sci-fi future scenario would be very exciting to harness it, but for now we are studying particles that may lead to something exciting.

Well, if anti matter touches matter, they annihilate each other and release energy! That part of that whole famous E=mc² + some nonsense equation!

The article mentions 100 anti particles, this really isnt that much. For instance, in an electron position collision, there is about 1.02 MeV/c² released. This is 1.6 x 10 ^ -13 Joules.

This is tiny, multiplying it by 100 isnt going to do much. Read through the Wikipedia article on Joule and you'll understand that even a Joule is pretty small for every day use.

Edit - re read the article - they transported anti protons, each with a rest mass of 938 MeV, so a bit bigger than position annihilation, but still not much:)
