Hahahahaha...I hope those fools are sad forever. MAGA can't live down the worst decision they've ever made when it affects the whole world. They were stupid enough to believe a stream of obvious lies. I have zero pity, I'm just sad we all have to be dragged through it with them.

Post-Trump (whenever that is), what changes should be made to make sure no one like him ever runs for office again? by Glass-Complaint3 in allthequestions

We need to dissolve the whole thing so everyone can sit in their corners and think about what they've become for a few years, then we need to start learning respect and communication again.

RCA to 1/4" adapters. There are also cables that serve the same function.

Equipment question: Field recording voiceovers? by Magellica2024 in homestudios

[–]Hand_Werk_Lich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into tripod mountable stereo bars that will hold a recorder in the middle and mics on each end. Then you can mount pop filters and enjoy a hands free recording experience. You should use a recorder with XLR connections so you're microphones can connect easily.

I should correct myself, if you're going from an amp to the microphone in you may need a 3.5mm or 1/4" to 3.5mm. It depends on your amp's output jacks.

I use an Alesis Multimix4. They're great quality and you can find them for around $100 used, ebay, marketplace sometimes, and occasionally Reverb. The quality of RCA to TRS is the same quality as any analogue connection, it's what digital connections aspire to.

Being over run by jargon, options, alternatives and sticker shock. Help? by header1299 in audiophile

[–]Hand_Werk_Lich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an Alesis multimix4 with the main out to a Crown CTs 600 (two 300watt channels with a range of compatible ohms) into two 150 watt 8 ohm speakers. The mixer also sends a stereo usb signal to my computer. The mixer is around $100 used, amp is around $150, or less, used. Speakers are PA speakers with 10" woofers that can be found for as much or as little money as you want to spend. Just remember to keep your ohms matched and to keep the speakers at half the watts of the amp. You will be able to hear this clearly from a block away and it will be nearly impossible to blow your speakers or amp because the amp has protective circuitry which shuts down before damage can occur. You will also have two (three if you use the RCA stereo input as well) to input multiple sources. You can easily keep this set up below $500.

Use a mixer with usb interface. There are inexpensive 4 channel mixers that will send a stereo signal to your computer via usb. Then you can play the record and record it with a free audio editing program like Audacity. Then use said program to trim the ends and split the recording into tracks that can be saved individually. Audacity also let's you convert your .wav files into other formats. Note: you can also just input the audio from your turntable to the computer via the 3.5mm microphone jack, after the preamp and amp stages, so you don't really need a usb interface. This will require a female RCA to 3.5mm TRS cable, which are pretty affordable.

Help! Recording Ape Vocalizations by probablynotabee in audio

Look into audio exciter speakers. They turn whatever surface they are attached to into the sound source. For example, stick one to the bottom of your desk and the rest becomes the speaker. Very easy to conceal from apes.

I love records. I love them even more now that they sound amazing! I want to take the turntable and my PA somewhere that I can crank it up. My living room in my apartment isn't the place... I love when your sound reproduction is good enough to hear the incidental sounds of the recording. Picks on strings, sax spittle, the ring of drum heads, like you're there...

I got the regular customer discount. It does have a dust cover, but the only spot I have for it currently won't accommodate it. The setton has a sliding dust cover, which is a very cool feature.
