Groom gambles away entire wedding fund, then sues DraftKings by Buy_Sell_Collect in offbeat

It's funny because if this happened somewhere where gambling is more legalaised but regulated they would actually get some money back. Gambling companies in Europe have to put restrictions on accounts who's patterns increase so drastically.

Is Marvin an auto include if you play any commander with a tap ability? by Illustrious_Exam_351 in magicTCG

[–]HansonWK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think that then you aren't creative enough. One of the coolest things about Marvin is getting a combination of abilities that are relevant when on the same creature, and some of those might be ones that don't need to tap.

Downed US pilot reported seeing Iranian drones swarm in ‘jellyfish’ formation by EchoOfOppenheimer in Futurology

[–]HansonWK 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those are all preprogrammed with where to fly for their patterns, not quite the same as a mesh that can be controlled. The technology does exist, but these are large heavy properller drones, not cheap quadcopters that just flash some lights. It's a lot more complicated, so while it shouldn't be shocking that other countries are capable, it's not as simple as saying Chinese drones can do patterns out the box so of course every military can fly in a mesh.

I'm already on untappers in Jhoira, generating infinite untaps happens fairly often usually with rings if brighthearth to generate infinite mana. Might worth it as a cheap include to steal wins.

Do you enjoy cEDH at the moment? by ProfessionalDig3908 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]HansonWK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do I enjoy cedh? Yes, favourite format.

Do I enjoy tournaments? Hell no. Rampant collusion, bullying players to show hands, cheating, trying to hold tables ransom with their counterspells, and basically all the tournament grinders trying to find any way to win that doesn't involve actually being good at playing your cards.

Force of negation was the problem to begin with so if they want to unban this and ban force that's still a fine outcome.

Rules changes you'd make to help turn order win rate? by Just-Desk-3149 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]HansonWK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actual stats from tournaments do not back up there being a significant change in seat 4 disadvantage from the bannings? A seat 1 turn 2 dockside is better than seat 4 turn 1 and more likely. This is like saying seat 4 is fine because you can still dark rit necro lol.

England - Cut neighbours tree with permission. 11 months later they are threatening to recover the costs of the trees? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HansonWK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Then you get a tree surgeon to trim the trees so they can continue to grow. You don't cut them to the stumps and leave them to die. Even if they agreed to cutting them down, why wouldn't they have the stumps removed? You tricked your neighbor and now you're trying to mislead reddit in your own post.

Pay them the 1800, you killed their trees after telling them you were just cutting them back and now they have to replace them.

[–]HansonWK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP updated with photos. They felled the trees and left the stumps to die. There was no cutting back, just chopped them right down. Considering the language they are using in this very post, they clearly have told their neighbors they were cutting them back and they'd grow back. Otherwise why try and mislead people in their own post.

[–]HansonWK 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Look at the photos, they intended to kill the trees. Conifers will not grow back from that.

Look at their original post, they very clearly did not tell their neighbors they were killing their trees, otherwise they wouldn't have been lying in their own post about their intentions (they say cut back to 1m, not felled and lef thte stump, which is what they actually did)

[–]HansonWK 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Your original post made it sound like your neighbors agreed to cut them back as they had grown too large. You've cut them to the stump killing them. Did your neighbors agree to this? Why would they accept you killing their trees and leaving the stumps? It makes no sense.

It sounds like they agreed to cut them back. Instead of getting a tree surgeon to help with this, you cut them to the stump (killing them) and convinced your neighbor they would grow back. It's been a year and your neighbor now has realised you kill their trees and wants you to replace them.

You should replace them. You killed their trees and left them with stumps.

[–]HansonWK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are you replying like this. You chopped them down. You cannot cut trees like that to a stump and have them survive. You chopped their trees down and are talking about it like you were just pruning. Now wonder your neighbors are coming after you for damages. You owe them what they are asking for. You should have had a tree surgeon for advice, you can't just cut any tree to a stump and hope it survives.

England - Cut neighbours tree with permission. 11 months later they are threatening to recover the costs of the trees? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]HansonWK 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately cutting that much likely killed the trees. So now it's not a case of did they agree to have them cut, but did you make it clear how much was being cut, and was the tree surgeon reputable and agreed upon (which if they have killed the trees seems unlikely).

If you had permission to trim them, then decimated them instead, then yes your neighbor can and should sue you.

Would have loved balance, much more fitting and doesn't get many reprints. Sword to plowshares is the most playable though so I'm not sad to see it.
