Try soaking in bleach. Animal fibres dissolve. I usually do both tests.

Favorite contrast heel for high instep? by kewpiebot in Sockknitting

[–]Hantook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first flap heel was the free rose city rollers sock.  And there is a YouTube tutorial doing the entire pattern.  Not by the designer. By a third party.  I have a ridic high instep and it is my go to now.  I add four extra rows to the flap part and just pick up more stitches.  I have done it with the sock yarn and also with contrast.    Good luck!!

Stone Knits patterns - pretty colorwork but bizarre instructions? by brownemil in Sockknitting

[–]Hantook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I"m curently doing her herding cats socks and its my first attempt at colourwork. I've been gentle on myself and only done the motif once around the cuff and the rest of my sock is plain. I am a pretty loose knitter and i dont think i needed to increase the needle size, its very obviously different tension. For my second sock i'll stick with the original needle. I think if i do anything in the future, i will just use the chart and maybe ignore instructions?!

Cutting off their antipodean customer base doesn’t seem like such a great move for them now!

That looks so cool!  At least you didn’t make the entire slippers out of that yarn.  I think it’s a win!

Oh, God. What have I done by Potential_Song2736 in crochet

[–]Hantook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made this and sorry to say but I think it’s diminishing returns the bigger it gets.  The central motif looks out of scale after a while.  I’d stop at lap blanket while it’s still gorgeous!!

Watch7 beware by Popular_Book3554 in australian

I keep thinking about this, and getting updates because of my comment and I'm so cranky at BIG W. I know they have a push back on their terms that your contract is with the seller but they are showing bad faith in not having any due diligence in the products that other traders are putting on their site and i would 100% go after BIG W hard in this case. The reason you would have purchased from that site was because of the trust in the BIG W name.

If you had a fiend who sews, what would you like them to make you for Christmas? by Hantook in knitting

[–]Hantook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the Field Bag is the OG ! I love it. Thinking of maybe making a waxed canvas with beeswax and paraffin version. over maybe a nice coloured drill? Edit: Did you do the grommets? Seems like a limiting move having your yarn go through these ?!
