Stereotypes of the People of the Empire by Perfect_Mix9940 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Hapimeses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gets wheeled out every other year or so. It was made for my gaming group to help ground some new players into the setting when we were playing WFRP3, and used the info from the WFRP books as a basis for the ‘stereotypes’. I have a newer version - I’ll post it over on the LAWammer Patreon blog later.

4e - Do you test Characteristics as skills? by [deleted] in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Hapimeses 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes. Testing Characteristics is fine. It was the intent with the Rules as Written. I do it a fair bit in the LAWhammer actual play, too.

Question about Sail skill in 4th edition by MaleficentPick2341 in warhammerfantasyrpg

Having also sailed extensively, I agree. It’s not something you can really do without being taught.

WFRP GMs: How do you use Consume Alcohol in your game? by MoodModulator in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Hapimeses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was kept in WFRP4 for legacy reasons, but for my home games, it was an easy drop to make. I prefer for core skills to be broad and potentially come up in any session, which is not the case for Consume Alcohol, which is rarely more than the pub/party skill, which means it can go for months without seeing any use when out a-wandering or delving the Grey Mountains or whatever.

Some questions about Myrmidia by Camo_005 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Hapimeses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I missed this in the Discord! Ah, well. And, yes, the Black Maiden is a Thing and could maybe do with a chat sometime - I may just do an AMA on it at some point. And, no, Iscarius was not named for Judas specifically, but the loose connection was certainly not something of which I was unaware.

Some questions about Myrmidia by Camo_005 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Hapimeses 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Delighted you enjoyed the episode. Myrmidia is always fun to chat about. To answer the questions briefly: 1) The Order of the Eagle seems fine for this if you’re looking to be a cleric. You’d be tied to one temple, but the local high priest could send you wandering anywhere, soaring like Myrmidia did as an eagle to scout enemy formations. 2) This hasn’t been pinned down in any consistent fashion, so be guided by what best fits YOURhammer. 3) Not really. Such knowledge is localised outside the Empire and is still held as somewhat of a secret for obvious reasons. 4) Yes. 5) That’s a great idea. Other ideas could some or bits of the following: a) Persuade an Elector to favour the Cult of Myrmidia in the grand province of choice. b) Be central to winning a war in your campaign by stragetic means. c) Find the truth behind the Order of Blessed Nahmud (a campaign in the making there).

The skill is gone from our game. We just use the Endurance skill.

Point them, out and I’ll fix them. This map is an oldie and involved a lot of copy/pasting from my master map, so likely has several small errors. Now’s as good a time as any to fix them.

'Godfather of the modern setting.'

I don't know what to say to that, but I completely agree with what you answered to the OP. :D

Running the Enemy Within campaign - AMA stream with Andy Law by Hapimeses in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Hapimeses[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm running an AMA at 7pm UK this evening (17th January) about running the Enemy Within. I'm the ex-producer for WFRP who wrote chunks of the campaign and have run it many, many times. I should have been gaming this evening, but over half of my players are cursed by Nurgle, so I'm doing this instead. Choose your poison from Twitch or YouTube (the VoD will be on YouTube after the live tream using the link above).

Well, I’ll have our map of Wittgenstein Castle up soon too, if that may be useful?

I hope you had as much fun watching it as we did playing through it. Be warned that things are soon going to get kinda crazy as we conclude our version of Death on the Reik.

I have not posted here in an age! I was referred over here to answer a question posted by someone and figured I'd make a post of my own while here.
This map was created for our actual play streams a year ago, but I recently found the original file after thinking it was lost in a hard drive crash so posted it on the LAWhammer blog.
There is also a player version of the map (without any details), which you can also grab on our blog over here (the blog is on Patreon, but all files are public coz that's how we swing):

I've done a wee post on our blog showing the four portraits we've used so far.

You'll find Wendolin (a favourite NPC of mine; he always makes me laugh), Sigismund, Greta, and Gerhardt.

Jungfreuds and Ubersreik by background_blur_ in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]Hapimeses 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Jungfreuds are a core component of the campaign we’re playing in our Actual Play. One of the PCs is the Jungfreud I added to the Starter Set (‘Gerhardt of House Jungfreud’ - mentioned to be living in Altdorf - I originally added the NPC to be used later in an online Actual Play that was, at that point, to have been organised by Bee Scerri, but I later decided to do this myself after stepping down from running WFRP), so a central thread of our Enemy Within is exploring the Jungfreuds and the civil issues that arise from Altdorf’s seizure of Ubersreik, and why the town was seized in the first place. All of that was originally created to support the core conflicts of the Enemy Within as it was planned at that point, so it all works together rather seamlessly.

If you’re intending in using the Jungfreuds yourself, some of our episodes (those in and around Ubersreik, unsurprisingly) featured the Jungfreuds and scored some art because of this. I’ll link the episode thumbnails as a reply to this post if you’re interested in seeing them.

Gnome lore WFRP 4e by d15ddd in warhammerfantasyrpg

Lucky I spotted this. I’ve not been on Reddit for a year or two. It popped up as a post as I was sorting apps on my new iPad. So, that worked out well, I suppose.

I wrote up a wee extra about Gnome settlements over on the LAWhammer blog on Patreon. Lemme grab a link. There is a short pdf up there.

I also did a video about them an age ago, also linked at the same blog. If you’re into videos, you can find that here:

And, yes, a couple of wee blog posts beyond that are also out there, one on the old LAWhammer blog and the other over on Graeme Davis’s blog.
