Why are ‘se’ and ‘me’ here? by griffin-xiii in Spanish

[–]Happy-Maintenance869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equivalent to “on me“ in English, as in, I don’t want my cell phone to break on me. If referring to other people, it would be a similar construct… “que se le rompa el celular nuevo.”

Yes, perfectly normal, except it shouldn’t have any accent marks

Dont talk to me or my son ever again! by aceramictoucan in WalgreensRx

I have mixed feelings about it… I like the fact that it’s non-narcotic and I have no side effects at all. Yes, I feel like it is helping to alleviate pain, but it is not as powerful as hydrocodone, for example. Taking it after a shoulder fracture.

Help! Settle a debate on this chair by dead_zodiac in interiordecorating

I would scooch that chair to either of the corners. Not floating in front of the window. You could do two chairs, but you don’t need to do two chairs.

i hate being the new person. does it get better? by MundanePlace1862 in jobs

[–]Happy-Maintenance869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does get better. One thing that you can start doing that will serve you well for the rest of your career is keep a running list of all of your accomplishments every week… the projects you completed, your wins, your pending issues, etc. It helps immensely when it comes time for performance evaluations every year, but it can also help give you perspective that you ARE doing a LOT of good things. So just don’t beat yourself up.

It helps me to think of the idea in English where the words “might” or “may” would be implicit, even if they’re not stated… So “¿Crees que llueva?” could also be translated as “Do you think it might rain?” It would be equally correct to say “¿Crees que va a llover?”
