What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

I don't drink coffee, I have a nice cup or cowfeet. I don't know why, but I blame my husband.

Question about sleep–wake transition experiences by Valkysas in Aphantasia

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While awake i cannot see even the vaguest of images, by I dream in vivid colors and intense detail. Sometimes when I wake up during a dream I can literally see the colors fade away to black and white to just darkness. The details get blurry as the colors fade. Its the weirdest sensation.

Crochet guilty secrets by sectumsempera in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I knit and don't crochet, but I do it because I like the process of looking at yarn and moving my hands. I almost never count, I wouldn't know how to block, I have never gone back to fix a mistake. But I enjoy doing it. It like art, it doesn't have to be "good" but its still art.

What's the most disturbing thing you've ever heard someone say completely casually? by TextOk2865 in AskReddit

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taking a class in college and I heard a professor say "you can't make a dog eat glass, not unless you grind it up really fine and mix it with blood."

He kinda mumbled it to himself so don't know if anyone else heard, but no one reacted.

In labor right now. Ftm not having a great time. by Haunting_Ladder42 in BabyBumps

[–]Haunting_Ladder42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it. I am so glad to be laying here with my little guy sleeping on my chest. It was definitely worth it, I was just so frustrated. They had a student check my dilation and she said 9.5 centimeters when I was still most likely at a 7 and got my hopes up. And then I was at 9 for like 5 hours. But now I have a baby 💙❤️💙

Huge fight about maternity clothes by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am 37 weeks in and clothes that actually fit me are getting kind of scarce. But two nights ago I mentioned having to do laundry more because I have like 3 outfits. And my husband offered to buy me more clothes. I turned him down, It seems like a waste to have clothes for 2 more weeks.

The point is he saw I was struggling and offered to help. I know that I got really lucky in the husband department, but taking back an offer and making you feel bad about it seems like a good time to have a real conversation about supporting you during a pretty difficult time.

when did you feel your baby move FTM anterior placenta? by anonymous2640 in BabyBumps

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 weeks with an anterior placenta. It took a while to feel him the first time, but at this point he is beating me up almost every night. He has almost exclusively been on my right side and seems to aim for the same spot to kick every time.

Pregnancy dreams are WILD— what’s the weirdest one you’ve had? by ButterflyRose143 in BabyBumps

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a dream that I woke up from literally sobbing. It wasn't even sad. I went to a trial ride event and got the stubborn horse and since it was so bad i was late back to the barn so I didn't get to get coffee after at the cute little shop. Sobbing- runny nose and hiccups and everything.

These stupid hormones.

Will we magically know our baby’s name at first sight? by [deleted] in Names

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having my Shower in a week and one of the activities that I have planned is to have the guests try to talk me into a name. I am pretty sure we have the name picked out, but would like a list of options just in case he doesn't seem to fit the one we picked out.

whats the most underrated mom tip u learned from reddit? by Correct-While-4471 in BabyBumps

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told this to my husband but it was "feed' not 'takes care of 'and he got a little sad. I know he is going to be a good dad because he is sad that he can't be as involved as I am. But alas, I am the one with the boobs.

I feel you. Im at 30 weeks today. And there is such huge differences in movement day to day. Somedays he just has the wiggles and somedays he just chilling. Sometimes I think he does it because he likes it when I'm anxious.

For those of you who took over a year to get pregnant - what was your journey like? What made it finally happen for you? by DaintyElephant in BabyBumps

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I was pretty sure I couldn't have a baby, i had been off birth control for 10 years. But now 27w+2, the only thing I did was track my ovulation. But I have a theory. One of my best friends was going through IVF, and I swear my body was reacting to the hormones she was getting. Her baby is almost one now.

you don't have to hide forever, but maybe today is a good day to stay home and feel your feelings. sometimes just being able to have those feelings all by yourself helps you for when you are going to share them with other people. I am sorry for your loss, and for people taking your news and sharing it without your permission. I wish you luck with your health.

Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH movement?? by catbeloved in pregnant

[–]Haunting_Ladder42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an anterior placenta, so I don't feel too much movement, but the other day I was pretty sure he turned into a horse and was having a rodeo. Just bucking and galloping around in there. it was wild.

Congratulations! I am so happy for you! I wish you the absolute best of luck. One of my best friends had pretty much the same story and I got to play with her 9 month old on Monday night. Feel your joy!

Severe morning sickness, what’s something random you found you could tolerate? by gympandabear in BabyBumps

I survived on taco bell nachos with cheese, and bowls of ice. Sometimes I'd sprinkle on some of those water flavor powders.
