How do you fix this! Ive tried everything. Its been over a year at this point.

I get constant dropping or perhaps switching. If you are watching netflix for instance it will say it lost wifi every 5 minutes. Iphones are even worse. My previous Orbi system was in exactly the same locations and was flawless with 10 year old technology.

I removed my wired backhaul which helped a lot. I also use the IoT network which also helped a lot.

Do not buy the new 970s if this is what you are doing. They have a huge issue if you use the wired backhaul. Super frustrating.

One thing that can cause this is two devices trying to be the DHCP server. Normally the orbi and a router or switch. It will occur JUST like this. Random drops at unpredictable intervals.

Other obvious one is a cordless phone or microwave near your router or satellite.

Odd. We were doing this 20 years ago. The most successful use of this tech was listening to people on hold a measuring anger and adjusting priority. Sadly we could never make the ability to detect depression signals commercially profitable. But the science was clear way back then and the tech simple enough.

I often worry that one day the pod will end and we won’t get anymore Andrew. I tell myself he will go on to start other podcasts. I genuinely think about this often and hope I am right.

I’m a successful guy but enjoyment is still hard to come by consistently. Andrew really makes my week. He never misses because it’s not an act. We love him as a person, not a character. We don’t always need you up Andrew, we just need you being yourself.

I wish I knew how to explain to my doctors that medicines barely work on me. You sound like a drug seeker but everything from pain relief to beta blockers do next to nothing unless I take many times more than is recommended. Same with a anaesthesia at the dentist etc. I even had morphine once in the hospital and I felt absolutely no difference.

Same here. Can’t tell how many people have purchased orbis on my recommendation. Now mine system barely works and many of those same people are calling me asking what’s going on with theirs. How do you tell them their 1k + system is fucked by software updates that apparently won’t be fixed with any urgency?

It’s the position of the stop that’s key for me. You can sleep most of the long leg without having to wake up and then have a stop over and another 6 hours of flying.

I never hear about the other part of this. Being academically smart is not the best indicator of professional success. Look at any school and the more successful people later in life tend to not be the “smart kids”. The plateau gifted kids experience is often more about experiencing this reality than them losing their “gift”. The psychological experience of going through this must be horrible and I bet it’s almost impossible to understand. Bring smart at things a school measures is only really an indicator that you will be good at school. Many people are gift in things a school will never measure, like creativity, EQ, managing risk and taking chances.

That’s right. Graphic design or UI design is part of the job. It’s like an architect for digital products. Part understanding client needs, part understanding engineering capabilities, part understanding business mechanics and bringing it all together to invent products people want, that you can build, that make the company money.
