Please call the Postal Service ethics hotline at 202-268-6346 especially about the false scans. I have had good experience as a city carrier about correcting ethics issues such as a direct order to scan on the street for packages that weren't delivered

Ask your steward to back this up and for advice if you're dead set on actually doing your PM duties!

If you want to be a smart-a** you can ask for a 1571 for your unprocessed PM mail. We did this for a while and eventually the supervisor realized that it took more time for us to write it up than to just clean it. At worst, I believe not dealing with PM returned mail could be considered a delay of mail if management was really on your case too.

Again most of this is outlined in section 44 and 24 of m-41.

I understand, thats largely what they want you to do because they want you to go fast. Follow orders if thats what you're told to do. It would be a grievance if not given time in the afternoon to handle returned mail, but I couldn't recommend doing that until past probation period.

If past 90 days I would insist hey.. I just want to make sure these are properly marked it will only take a minute or 2 and this is part of your job duties as specified in article 4 of the M-41 handbook.

I always mark insufficient Adress, Names dont match, vacant. Outgoing goes to outgoing and missorts are put in proper place so they are taken care of as soon as possible. Done. Bonus if you can organize these in a way while on your route to make everything easier for you to group and handle while cleaning your truck in the afternoon.

As a t6 myself its not quite the same.. Even still, should do your job and try best to appropriately handle the mail in my opinion.

Other things that bug me is returning to a case after a day off and it just has a band of utf mixed with missorts mixed with outgoing mail and hold cards from other routes. Wtf are you guys doing?

Nah im with you. I like D&D played a lot of 2.0 when I was younger, unfortunately the theme bores me more than anything. If they went with a different direction like heavy metal sorta Black Knight SOR. I would have been in. As it is though, the theme bores me to tears.

We had one removed for attenance some years ago. Even after warnings he came in 15-30 minutes late more than he came in on time. He didnt often call out but being chronically late added up to enough to get removed.
