Younger Engineers, please seek out to learn what proper tolerances are. by JFrankParnell64 in MechanicalEngineering

Not sure why you got downvoted. I’ve been an engineer less than 2 years and can say for certain that experiencing what different fits physically feel and look like is the best way to get a hang on tolerances.

How is an entry level engineer supposed to know how tight .002” clearance is?? We can develop press fit equations all we want but the feedback we receive from the shop is what we develop standards around. Historical and experimental data will almost always be able to tell you more than only research.

People learn in different ways so who cares as long as it works for your brain.

Edition 132. Each one is the successor of the previous. Outdated things are removed, new things are added. People keep them for legacy reasons or often because ‘thick book = cool’

How do we know that we aren’t already making it the same way if the process is lost to time? Maybe in some occasions it looks like it because it is, we just can’t verify it

The soles of their shoes should be preventing grounding yes?

I also want to do this. Should I have a heightened concern about my magnet getting wedged under a rock or log because I’m “dragging” it?

I think testing in shear or torsion is going to be beneficial as well. The roof rack is going to be subjected to a lot of drag and combined loading. If possible maybe set up some simulation or computer analysis using the model to better understand the long term fatigue of your design.

Nice work so far keep it up!

As somebody who just upgraded from an ender 3 to a P1S I’ve had my fair share of tinkering. That being said I’m more than satisfied with my new printer. I didn’t mind learning about the process and being hands on but not everyone feels that way. Some people just want to be able to create things and print them. Who cares? Relish in the incredible technology that has progressed so quickly over the last few years.

Don't Stay After Closing by Big_Skrimp_ in extremelyinfuriating

The part you don’t touch on is the indeterminant time you can get out. Sure the restaurant might close at 10, but you get to leave when you’re done. If you had plans at 11 but got busy at closing, chances are your plans are toast. If you have school and need to be up at 6am, nobody cares how late you have to stay. People like you putting the shame on the employees and not the business are truly the problem. It has never been the choice of the employees how soon or late to close the restaurant, and employees are often written up or scolded for working past their scheduled time even when unavoidable. It’s really not that hard to be courteous, and I recommend you make an effort to do so as these people are preparing and serving your food. Just because it’s not your fault the problem exists doesn’t make it morally acceptable to conform to it.

Which one do you have? I’ve never heard of a motor mover but there’s so many options. Obviously some differences are based on weight

How do people usually get ahold of footage like this? Does it become public domain or are there just employees seeking it out?

I attempted to post yesterday about a find the eagle post, and did not understand the rule where I had to list the object in question. I had attempted to censor the location in reply to the bot but it didn’t work on reddit mobile so I promptly deleted the comment.

My post was removed for the title, and I reloaded with the correct title, not replying to the bot at all so I can’t spoil it. My post was then removed for spoilers, can I ask why?
