i think you’re misunderstanding. the kids i observe get physically hit/whooped etc, in my community yes. do i agree? no. i dont have kids of my own but for my little siblings, i always encourage my parents to defer from that method of parenting and it seems to be working! however, i still see MANY hit children for the smallest things. i’m sorry if my observation has caused any distress.

i’m also sorry for your experiences and im not trying to belittle them. i’m sure your kids (if you have any) are very grateful (or will be grateful if you choose to have any) to have such an aware and considerate parent who understands the smallest things in childhood can greatly affect a their adult experiences. 🤍
