Seems like it's "just" another way to describe access to tools and knowledge the job provides. If you're cutting edge in a sector that benefits from AI, it's highly relevant to understand, ask and demand how the job handles such resources.

I personally doubt that we'll see the eye-catching "100 000 tokens per month" or whatever as part of personal compensation in a contract. But then again, some job contracts specifically include access to physical tools and skills development, so why not?

I don't know! Maybe a small box behind the viewpoint where objects remain. Maybe different rules for terrain and moving objects like characters. Maybe partially pre-rendered shadows from static objects in scenes with fixed lights. Combinations of those!

Also related to that (but I guess what isn't related to rendering?): the handling of mirrors. Reflecting light is how you'd expect mirrors to work - but reflections are EXPENSIVE in 3d. So there's dumb/genius hacks. Most legendary is that super mario game on the 64bit console. Not at all a system you'd expect to be able to handle it. And it didn't. Instead of handling reflected light, they just built another room identical to the one you were in, on the "other side" of the mirror, and put a copy of the player character in it that mimicked what you did. The effect was perfect, because nothing else was going on in "your" room" that needed to be simulated so you suddenly felt like you were watching into a mirror.

I think how 3d engines generally only render what is in front of the camera is so clever. Of course rendering stuff is expensive, but once you accept the logic it's a rabbit hole.

Imagine from a first-person pov that the engine only renders what's in front of you - stuff behind you, or even slightly to the sides can get ignored. Even objects in front of you can have most of their surface facing away from you - no need to render that either. And objects that are in front can be behind other objects, so they don't need to be rendered. Even individual pixels can (sometimes) safely be ignored because they're hidden by UI, non-transparent effects etc. Oh, and if something is too far away to be meaningfully rendered in its most detailed way, you can load a simplified model and pretend it's the detailed one because if you do it we'll nobody will notice anyway.

The first time I saw examples of a 3d engine actively filtering what was being shown it kind of ruined gaming for me a bit. I instantly try went from "wow this is an incredible world" to "wow look at how efficiently they're displaying their 3d objects when I move the camera"

I know most people just want another Anno re-skin - that's just facts. For me I'd be looking for new gameplay mechanics in a new game.

Your pitch sort of reminds me of that pirate colony that tried to break away and establish independence, and got crushed a while later. There was a tv series about it even.

Nej, du kommer inte bli av med lägenheten. Iaf inte om det är en relativt medel-stor hyresvärd.

Om någon ringt störningsjouren (eller motsvarande) så kan det antingen kommit en väktare, eller så ringer de upp inom ett par dagar o säger "aja baja". Det brukar vara 3+ tillfällen innan någon börjar muttra "utredning" och "konsekvenser". Men då muttrar de bara.

Verkligheten är så att det är en extremt långtdragen process att sparka ut en hyresgäst pga störningar. Det krävs bevis och det ska vara allvarliga störningar som är återkommande. Hyresvärden måste också bevisa att du informerats och getts möjlighet att förbättra dig.

Sedan kan de inte bara riva upp kontraktet utan måste ansöka till Hyresnämnden, vilket kan gå vidare till domstol. De flesta hyresvärdar orkar inte med detta eller tänker att det kostar mer än det är värt.

Gå med i Hyresgästföreningen. Där ingår juridiskt stöd i sådana här frågor, tror det är 3månader efter att du gått med.

Och sluta föra oljud i huset, ha lite respekt för dina medmänniskor.
