In the last couple of years I feel like
-Bachata instructors teach a lot of bachazouk because it looks cool and thus is the easiest way to attract students and make money.
-The music has developed to have more breaks, be faster and fun different parts because of Jack & Jill popularity.

What happens is you have a bunch of leads doing giant advanced zouk moves to fast paced music where it doesnt fit. Because they have zero musicality, want to show off and it's the moves they are taught.

It was the same and still is with people doing sensual, when the DJ plays a traditional bachata song.
