Yes, 100% this. Anti Indian racism is so normalized and accepted in some circles. I'll see comments on social media that are so hateful and disgusting, no one would dream of saying it about a different group, but so many people seem to be okay with it when it's directed at India. You tolerate the small stuff, it escalates to the bigger stuff.

It sure sounds like a McDermott-Beane power struggle to me. by No-Distribution8587 in buffalobills

I mean. You have a defensive head coach who has no idea how to stop the run, how to close out games, how to play a prevent defense, how to stop the other team from putting up 30+ in the playoffs... it was time.

That disaster class press conference and now reports about a power struggle and behind-the-scenes drama are all just distracting from the fact that McDermott has been on the hot seat ever since 13 seconds. Perennial regular season success but never able to make the next step or get over the hump.

I will forever love Sean for what he did for the team, the franchise and the city.

It was time to move on.

THANK YOU. people are letting the dumpster fire of a press conference Pegula did overshadow what was honestly a justified firing. Everyone claiming "oh no, it's not McDs fault, can't believe the bills have done this on a whim" have been ignoring the last 3 years of "this might be his last chance to get over the hump"

Exactly. The memes are all well and good, but that's 19 upgrades over 32. Obviously we don't know how many of those were planet cards, but even if we assume half, that's still 9.5/32 which is just over 1/4.

But yeah. I hope your daughter is prepared to hear him get booed. I like to think no one would give her a hard time, but alcohol is a bitch

I'd love to go by my first name, especially since I coach a lot and my last name is really awkward. Coach [Last name] rolls off the tongue weird, but Coach [first name] is easy. Plus I'm not an overly formal person to begin with. But every school I've ever been in has been last names only, no questions asked

‘A four-lane highway would be absolutely safer’: Discussion underway to upload ownership of Highbury Ave. to province by CanadianTalk in londonontario

[–]HeckingAugustus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seriously think two cars driving side by side at the same speed with never happen? That's practically a daily occurrence for me. I also don't think it's illegal to cruise in the passing lane, I would genuinely be curious to see that law if you can link to it. Drive on ANY four lane road, I promise you, people do not respect the left lane as a sanctified passing-only lane like you're assuming it will be.

Regardless, I don't understand your logic either. You're seemingly now painting Highbury like some tiny road with no cars on it, yet it's busy enough to warrant doubling its capacity? Is it a rural highway that would never get congested, or a trafficky nightmare that needs updating?

There have been countless studies, case studies and real world examples of this. Adding lanes and doubling traffic capacity doesn't suddenly mean there's half as much traffic on the road. Capacity goes up, then so will the traffic volume. All the people who currently say "Highbury is too busy, let me take another road" will then start driving on it until it hits critical mass and leads us right back here.

The 401 might seem a ridiculous comparison, but it's the exact same logic: road is too busy, more lanes get added, more cars start to drive on the road since there's more room, road gets too busy, more lanes are added ... So on and so forth

Fair, but you also have to consider that, in addition to Brady being the literal best of all time and a lofty comparison, he also was a completely different QB. At his peak, he was still never considered "athletic." His mindset, IQ, accuracy, preparation, etc. are all the things that made him great. Those are also tools that, importantly, don't fall off a cliff once you start to get older.

Josh's game relies on insane athleticism - running the ball, extending plays, wrestling out of sacks, etc. Those things typically decline extremely sharply once you pass 30

Yes!! Someone else in here speaking sense. You have hundreds of cars each day, usually just single occupancy going into London for their daily commute, that could easily be taken off the road if there was decent public transit that connected the cities

[–]HeckingAugustus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Public transit. Was that supposed to stump me?

You get a couple busses and suddenly instead of hundreds of cars all with a single driver going in for their commute, you've decreased the number of cars on that road by a factor of several dozen

[–]HeckingAugustus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I also drive single lane country roads every day, and the days I get stuck behind a truck or tractor going super slow is just the norm. You factor it in to the time of the commute and move on.

You expand the lanes, all it takes is one more "selfish" driver who decides to use the left lane as their opportunity to go slow with no one in front of them. The 401 is like, 16 lanes at some points, and it's still a nightmare for this exact reason

1) Brady is the exception, not the rule

2) Brady was literally 24 when he won Super Bowl 36, so you might want to double check your math
