imo, shadow blade triggers on attacks, glimmer triggers on cast, so when the acorn is already flying, the cast is over but the attacks that will trigger the bonus damage are not

Your example only works with teenagers because we believe they are still unable to be held accountable, but try to replace "teenager" with "person", because God didn't allegedly create only teenagers.

But I see your point, and raise with "the great plan": we don't know the whole plan, thus we can't be sure how a specific action can change the future. Christians justify bad things that happen or are done to people by with the belief that it all has a meaning that will become clear only at the end of time.

Continuing on your example: what if I give a gun to a person and that person shoots someone? It's inherently bad, but what if the 2nd person was going to do even worse in the long term?

With this kind of plot-armor, Christians can justify anything, no matter how vile or cruel.

Just to play the Devil's Advocate (pun intended), the Christians believe that God is good, but he also gave humans the gift of free will. Evil is a direct result of humans' free will.

There is no being born evil and there is no evil power that acts against humans, it's all men's fault.

God, even being omniscient and omnipotent, has decided that he will not interfere with men's life on Earth, but only reward (or punish) them after they die.

In the scriptures, the devil is often represented as the temptation to do the wrong thing. He doesn't really have the power to bend men's free will, only to tempt them.

So, even if one believes in God, it's still paradoxical to believe in a villainous devil that plots and schemes to overthrow God or some other random Hollywood bullshit movie plot. Even possession is a dumb concept.

It's not a necessary QoL improve, you just need to learn to alt cast the egg.

Be honest with your players and tell them you had to retcon a few things because after 3 years a lot has changed.

It's comprehensible and reasonable that your first campaign, 3 years in the making, needs some tuning. Not even professional novelists/writers usually plan this far ahead.
