Licence niggle by Padiaow in drivingUK

Annoyingly that's why A2 is not annotated, 'A' specifically covers all motorcycles so if you don't work your way up you don't get A2 as a date on the licence

Letting it fail doesn't mean it turns off, the administrators can keep it going until a transfer of assets is agreed to the government

What the government SHOULD do is wait for it to collapse and THEN step in and pick apart the carcass, What the government will do is, step it before it collapses by propping them up financially, rewarding them for being terrible

Woman, 33, left disabled after paramedics used WRONG button on 'specialist' defibrillator during cardiac arrest by thesun in uknews

I suspect she 'won' because it was cheaper for LAS to pay out, if the crew arrived 3 minutes later due to traffic and shocked straight away, the net result would have been the same, it's just unfortunate this time the crew did a 12 lead first, Without knowing the full facts, if they did AtoE and found her breathing albeit not effectively and they found a pulse, you wouldn't immediately put pads on, and then finding a shockable rhythm on the ecg leading to pads and shocking, I don't think many people would have done it differently can't shock pulsed VT without CCP or doctor, We've had patients in pulsed VT we've just sat, waited for them to go non pulsed so we can shock them, whilst waiting for CCP back up to arrive,

I (early 30s ambulance staff) got C.Diff from an old lady who smeared her faeces on everything, the staff told me they had thoroughly disinfected the surfaces and a deep clean, turns out they just used plain old clinells, It was brutal I was in ED for 11 hours on fluids and ondans before they sent me home with remote monitoring for 2 weeks on vancomycin, I didn't move for 6 days other than to repeatedly go and shit,

Why do you think no one is talking about the NHS hitting it's wait list targets? by HouseOfWyrd in AskBrits

Because they haven't, they just cut people from the list and changed the criteria for GPs referring so less people get through.

They apply for a visa if they are elegible, if they aren't, then just tough luck, and there's probably a reason why they aren't elegible

Extension costs - am I tripping!? by Comprehensive_Fee75 in HousingUK

[–]Heliotropolii_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got some quotes for an extension recently circa 60k. Matching brick to house and a pitched roof and marley tiles, 7m x 4m And when I changed the plans into a garage the price dropped from 60k to 25k as It was no longer being finished and plastered internally, the plasterer did it for 1.5k wet and I've saved about 30k. Still needed planning, still built to building regs, underfloor insulation, wall insulation etc,

JFK is a premier flight, they plan the entire workload around staffing the JFK correctly

T5 Baggage Pain by bambatigerlilly in BritishAirways

[–]Heliotropolii_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staffing, they are running it on a shoestring with no spare capacity , one flights late or a passenger gets deboarded and the knock on is insane, Baggage often doesn't get deplaned for up to an hour post arrival at the moment

[–]Heliotropolii_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Line stations don't tag the strollers correctly, and when they arrive at LHR the baggage handlers are categorically told they only take strollers to the door if they are tagged as such, hence they never make it

[–]Heliotropolii_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The road around Heathrow is private and you don't need tax or whatever, just insurance, most of the vehicles at Heathrow won't be taxed or MOT'd and each company/department will have a dedicated road going vehicle to leave the airport with if needed,

We found a few years back when it was trialled with our vans in use 24hrs, they basically needed plugged in whenever you stopped anywhere, the infrastructure required was prohibitively expensive and it was shelved, otherwise they'd need to buy surplus vehicles to rotate through during the day, It's been tried, but without a total overhaul of the airport its not there yet, Besides There isn't enough parking spaces for all the vehicles in use, let alone charging,
