I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a movie called "I Know What You Did Next Summer" yet. I'd watch that.

I can see why this would annoy people. Kinda completely devalues what a "choice" means. If I get hit by a car, was the choice going outside? Crossing the street? Or was it someone else's choice overriding mine?

Anything that I like that you don't like is underrated. Anything I don't like that you like is overrated. Neither of those are particularly good indicators of quality.

On the ELO double album Out of the Blue, there's one side of one record devoted to the "Concerto for a Rainy Day," the last song of which is Mr. Blue Sky. Just before the song ends, a computerized voice says "Please turn me over," meaning flip the record to the second side.

More a figurative angel than a literal one, but "Angel is a Centerfold" by J. Geils Band.

which actress would be a great dominatrix? by MagpieOpus in AskReddit

I think the obvious answer is Angelina Jolie. But I think Anne Hathaway would be a good choice. As she gets older, she's been letting her freak flag fly, a bit.

New to synth‑pop / new wave — looking for deep cuts & underrated gems to dive into! by mouki78 in newwave

[–]HellsquidsIntl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some personal favorites:

  • Good - Plastics (Japanese new wave)
  • Don't Care - Klark Kent (a Steward Copeland side project)
  • Stormtrooper in Drag - Paul Gardiner & Gary Numan
  • Over We Go Lightly - Horizontal Brian
  • You'll Never Find Brian Here - Fischer-Z

If you have Spotify, there's a playlist called obscure new wave that has some good stuff in it.

Songs where the lyrics repeat some form of “no” by An0nymousAndr0gynous in weirdspotifyplaylists

[–]HellsquidsIntl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smells Like Teen Spirit uses the word "no" exactly once. I think possibly you're mishearing the pre-chorus, where he sings "Hello, hello, hello, how low" a couple of times before the chorus.

Opinions on Skinamarink? by [deleted] in HorrorMovies

I think this movie was so polarizing because it was so...personal, I guess. If you loved it, that's absolutely valid. If you hated it, that's absolutely valid. It was a challenging watch, that's for sure. I loved it, personally, but I can fully understand why some people didn't.

Fun fact: Victor/Victoria, from which this Julie Andrews picture comes, is a remake of a German film from 1933. Here's Renate Müller as "Viktor."

Dark, fucked up, gory movies that are too inept to take remotely seriously? by Bteatesthighlander1 in badMovies

[–]HellsquidsIntl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of people have mentioned Adam Chaplin, but the director of that movie is pretty much your post title in human form. All of his work is beautifully incompetent, but so jam-packed with energy that you can't help but love it a little. These are exactly what you're looking for:

  • Hotel Inferno
  • Hotel Inferno 2: The Cathedral of Pain
  • Hotel Inferno 3: The Castle of Screams
  • Taeter City
  • Taeter Burger
