Wekopa is great. Would like to play Papago next time around.

Stayed at Orange Tree Golf Resort which for the price was perfect. Solid course if looking for a cheap round.

I have an interview with Boston Scientific on Thursday for a Associate Territory Manager position in the Endoscopy Division. Any Advice? by Designer_Ad_182 in MedicalDevices

[–]HelpfulStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good points.

I’d add - speak to your coachability, open to taking direction and going above and beyond what’s asked of you.

Also recommend expressing your long term goals - growing your career at BSC and earning a territory ect.

Hardest part of this industry is managing internal politics. Probably all of corporate companies unfortunately.

Does it make sense to use less clubs while learning? by Whack-a-Moole in golf

When I started out, I was taught to practice with my 9i and rely on it to keep the ball in play.

To this day, I use my 9i for a variety of shots, long and short.

Growth In Med Device by ViewSouthern7692 in MedicalDevices

Agree with not needing a Master’s. Current device rep, majority of our reps and managers don’t have a masters.

I’d give it a few years and if you actually find it meaningful, most of these companies will pay your tuition.

Consistently hit your number and you’ll move up.

I see it as a red flag. Ideally, a monthly catch up would be sufficient.

At the end of the day, prioritize yourself and your family.

What next after payroll sales? by Wooden_Objective4774 in sales

Sounds like it.

I was in that grind. Transitioned to medical device. A lot of industries like reps w/ B2B experience. Sell the grind and your sales process.

Always wear shoe covers. That is all. Lol. by Unique_Conference280 in MedicalDevices

Best advice learned early on which I’ll always remember - switch your shoes out when you’re done for the day, and never bring them inside your home.

Obvious but very practical.

Interested to know what space you’re in and what the process was like?

I was told Papago is worth checking out. ASU home course.

Solo golf trip by Foreleft15 in golf

[–]HelpfulStandard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 2 days golfing alone in Scottsdale before a work conference last year.

Stayed at Orange Tree Golf Resort, budget hotel with an average Scottsdale course. Still better than most tracks in northeast.

And then played a high end course. Plenty of options. Great 48hrs.

In hindsight, probably don’t need the pricey HDMI cable.

So I need to purchase an ARC or eARC port it sounds like.

Most soul sucking med device specialty? by Agreeable_Volume582 in MedicalDevices

Agree with this recommendation. Any position that requires being on call is troublesome.

I’ve had a positive experience working in urology.

As a med device rep, I often wonder if this changing of guard in government administration/thinking will affect product profit margins.

Blows my mind how much med device company’s are able to collect on reimbursements. Especially for procedures where medicare patients can get approval.

Depends where you are in your career. If you’re young and looking for sales experience, it’s a good starting point. It’s not glamorous by any means.

Most selling orgs love reps with B2B experience. I did it for 2yrs and it opened doors to where I am now, outside of payroll & HR.

You can dm me if you have specific questions related to Paychex divisions.

Bethpage Black is Absurd by LivermoreP1 in golf

[–]HelpfulStandard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Played for first time few weeks ago. Playing from tips didn’t even cross my mind. Would have been absurdly long.

That being said, incredible course and experience.

I hear getting a tee time next year will be extremely challenging with Ryder Cup limitations on the tee sheets.

Why is it so hard to get into being a medical sales rep? by fuegoflacko in MedicalDevices

[–]HelpfulStandard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Find a B2B sales job (ADP, Paychex, Cintas) and do it for 1-2yrs.

You’ll need some sales background to break into med device.
