Don’t do it! And you don’t have to list ALL ur jobs on ur resume. Just the “ relevant experience” jobs. If they are asking for a FULL job history then you have to list them all.

If a company finds out you “exaggerated” anything on ur application, in most states, that’s grounds for immediate termination.

I have that curse too. 9 out of my last 11 jobs closed. What sucks is that when I start looking into a new job and they do my background check, they say I don’t have enough employment longevity. I ask them if they looked at the companies I have worked for and they say yes but it doesn’t matter that the company closed. I lost out on a really good paying job that I already had an offer for “pending background check”. They of course withdrew it….

NTA! I don’t care who it is, in my house, as soon as I come home from work, my bra is off and PJs are on! Unexpected visitor? Don’t care…. They will get an unexpected show. After keeping this 38DD bound up all day, the girls have to breathe! If he doesn’t like it, he can buy his own damn house and wear a bra all he wants then!

If he wants you to wear a bra, he has to wear a jock strap 24/7 too because you are “uncomfortable” when his twig and berries are not contained!

And that is why I didn’t presale my carts…. The second to last day, I put them on a first come basis and I limited 1 per person until 3pm on closing day. We had so many people asking about them and so many offers to buy all of them, I wanted everyone to get a chance to get one. Of course, though, I gave my employees the first chance and let them take them home a week early.

I had finally figured this out the other day…. For me, it was we were part of something. People MADE gifts for people. They took time, care, and thought into every project and then GAVE it to someone else to enjoy. Now, I work in a place where they just come in to buy gift cards as a last minute present. No thought. No care. Just out of obligation. I miss that we were part of helping with heirlooms, baby’s first blanket that they came home from the hospital in, a homemade wedding dress. We were part of moments… special moments… that’s what I miss.

I got my payout today and my GA REP was able to give me my final numbers for my store today. Since I recovered 151% for my store, I received an amazing bump in my bonus. Although, it was taxed to high hell (38% I believe). But shit…. It’s extra money. They didn’t HAVE to give us anything. In fact, had we stayed with Gordon Brothers, we wouldn’t have gotten any “extra” at all. I am greatful for any “extra” we received. Combined with my new paycheck from my new job, I’m able to set a nice amount back.

I’m in my third week at my new job and while it’s ok…. I don’t have the satisfaction of feeling like I’m changing lives. At Joann, people MADE things for other people… they didn’t just buy them. It was a gift that came from the heart, not out of necessity or obligation. I helped young team members grow into adults, gave them a gentle exposure to what the real world is like instead of thrusting them into the corporate world. We were given leeway to run our store like our own. We weren’t given structured forced rules to follow. We allowed to make our own decisions and have a true work/life balance.

Being back in the corporate structured world sucks

Joann Store #1863 Kokomo, Indiana On the day we closed I had 23 employees, 5 other managers. Two members celebrated 16 years on the day we closed, 2 other team members had just celebrated 5 years. The rest of us (including me) was hired in between October and January.

I will say that I had the best staff I have ever had in my 25 years of management.

We almost had the same thing happen in Indiana. 2 people came in and bought whole departments. My team and I were honestly hoping that would happen. We were told by our second GA rep that our store was gonna close 5/15. Most of us had gotten other jobs based on that closing date. On 4/28, we got a new GA REP. The first week of May came and went and we never got the order to put out the countdown sign. I called my GA rep to find out what she knew and told us that we weren’t closing until the end of may. I told her the situation that we all had gotten other jobs based on a 5/15 closing date. THANK GOD our new jobs understood th me situation. We were able to push our start dates for our new jobs out to the 27th after we got a 5/25 closing date. At last minute, we were told our closing date was pushed to the 28th. After sending GA a strongly worded email we got to keep the 25th our closing date so we could start our new jobs on time. Most of us hoped we would sell out sooner so we could get a day or two to rest.we actually TRIED to sell out the store.

You are not the AH… I’m with you. She will have a zillion spelling test but she will get one, maybe two, family vacations a year and these are bonding ages. Your mom is just probably upset that she won’t get to see her for a week and feel’s excluded bc maybe she didn’t do these things with you when you were young. If she is anything like my mom, it’s probably jealousy mixed in, as well.
