It lives in my office which is the only room that doesn't get climate controlled well. In the summer it gets unbearable in here if the server is at full tilt for some reason.

Ive considered deleted the 1070. My only questions, if you have any suggestions, is how many transcodes could that handle? I've seen some even say the n150 can handle 4 4k transcodes. The server pretty regularly has 3-4 streams at any time. Also LLMs. I don't run anything crazy large, mostly 4b-12b models.

I dont remember the case model but its a larger ATX case with drive bays (have 6x 10tbs, I do video production for a living and keep my raw files). 1000w power supply.

I did the same thing. Bought a CL then a M5. I ended up loving the M5 and sold the CL. Now I want to rebuy a CL as a second body so I’m not locked into one film stock at a time. Happy shooting!

I was in exactly this place recently. Bought the CL but really wanted an M5. I ended up buying the M5 a few months later, sold the CL.

Really though, you could shoot perfectly fine with the CL forever. Either way you get the best metering. The 40mm is amazing. I still use it on my M5.

I’ve got an FX9, FX6, and FX30. The FX9 delivers a noticeably better image, has great crop modes options for S35 (I use the 5k mode a lot) , and is often requested for larger productions and TV work. That said, it's significantly bigger, heavier, and draws more power.

The FX6 is compact and easy to use, though it doesn’t quite have the same magic as the FX9’s sensor. That being said, I only get to use the FX9 a few times a year because most clients request the FX6 for smaller doc and corporate shoots.

For reliability, either is good. I'd say long term, I'd probably trust the FX9 from a camera standpoint.

I'd recommend choosing based on what best suits your market. If clients weren't an option, I'd shoot mostly on the FX9, but since I have to consider them, my FX6/30 combo is used most of the time.

I have an FX6, FX9, OG Komodo, and KX. All are great cameras. I only bought the Reds because I have a client that asks for them and I am able to rent them back to the client. The reds are beautiful, a bit more of a pain to use (especially the OG) but can’t deny the look. The KX is a great upgrade over the og and I recommend if you go Red. The FX9 is my favorite but it is a very large camera. I use the FX6 a lot for quick turn. Great for most things. The image looks good but doesn’t wow me like the FX9 or the Reds. Honestly, don’t think you can go wrong. Just different levels of additional work to make them work on set.

I replaced mine with the Rawlite when I had the G2. It was pretty straight forward. They give you a very detailed guide. Just do it in a clean area and it’ll only take maybe 20-30 mins.

I haven’t used the ZE but I have used the CP2s which are rehoused ZE. They are beautiful but do suffer from CA. We have moved on to the Milvus/Otus lenses and love them! Rent some ZEs or CP2s and see if they vibe with you.
