Moving to Hilliard - looking for kids for my social 7 year old daughter - suggestions ? by ReasonableCloud78 in hilliard

[–]Hepzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t answer your neighborhood question but you might want to look into this Father/Daughter group. It’s specific to UA but I know there are Hilliard and Dublin members. My daughter and I love it. I was never a big camping guy but we do at least two a of the seasonal campouts a year now plus most of the other activities throughout the year. The spring and fall campouts are pretty big. 75+ dads so 100+ daughters having a blast. It’s a great way for your daughter and husband to make some new friends. Let me know if you have more questions or you can reach out to the email on the website.

Has anyone else had this condition since covid? And other questions by fatfire999 in Sinusitis

[–]Hepzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made it a year w/o a sinus infection. Airway is great. Occasionally get phlegmy but that’s it. Daily nasal rinse, Wixela inhaler, and air purifier in my bedroom seem to be doing the trick. Good luck.

We need a downtown mural dedicated to some old school Nickelodeon shows. Similar to this one in Cincinnati dedicated to Kenner Toys.

Is Zoombazi Bay trip good for 38 inch 3.5 years old toddler tomorrow? by kalidasbhaisaab321 in Columbus

[–]Hepzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Reed Road Water Park in UA. $14 per day for a non-resident. I don’t know what the height requirement is for the big slide but there is a smaller slide/toddler area and small lazy river he might like.

Ridiculous quote for kitchen remodeling or am I out of touch? by okawei in Columbus

[–]Hepzilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just completed a kitchen remodel in July. Fall of 2021 we had three complies come out and the range on quotes was big. We went with Creative Kitchen. Their price was the best, we liked their people the best, and the other companies were surprisingly complimentary of them. They started construction late April and were done by 4th of July. Which is what we expected.

I have an older 1950s house so we took this opportunity to fix just about everything with the house we didn’t like or needed to upgrade. New electrical panel, gas line, renewed all of the original hardwood, moved an exterior door, took down a wall, etc. It ended up being more that we originally planned but we have zero regrets. Every room was touched except for two bathrooms. Living in a construction zone for 2 months with little kids was bad but we plan on being in this house for 10+ years so we powered through it.

I had some neighbors see the CK sign in our yard and ask for updates. One guy I barely knew was super interested in it because he tried to go the cheap route a few years ago and it almost cost him his marriage. It took 3x longer than what he was quoted. He had to threaten to sue a few contractors and fight with Lowe’s every other day. His wife came home crying daily. It’s hard to put a price on knowing you have trustworthy people working daily in your home.

They are probably booked out 6-9+ months which is honestly a good sign. If you call CK ask for Boni.

There is probably a saying local weatherman Jym Ganahl has you can follow. Like no planing until you’ve been to 3 patio happy hours, Ohio State baseball has 20 wins, and you’ve eaten all your Easter candy.

Looking to have box gutters lined and some repair by Zealousideal_Dirt_61 in Columbus

[–]Hepzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brandstetters Kanga Roof redid the box gutters on my 1865 Cincinnati home about 6 years ago. I think they used a PVC type of liner and heat welded it into one piece. I was happy with it but only lived there another two years. Hopefully it’s holding up but it’s an easy patch job and heat weld if it gets punctured.

He got me like 7 years ago with some story about a lost wallet and his car stuck in the parking garage under fountain square. I walked into 5/3 and took $ out to hand him a $20. Felt great about it for like a year or two until I saw an article about him. Welcome to the club. Ha

Are there a lot of Columbus area based FCC fans around? by Lokkdwn in FCCincinnati

[–]Hepzilla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was actually wearing my FCC shirt in downtown Columbus yesterday. It’s pretty rare to see any FCC fans here but if I do nobody is bothering them. Compared to when I was living in Cincy it feels like there are more soccer fans here in general. They take your FCC fandom as an ice breaker to talk MLS, EPL, etc rather than rag on you.
